Outlander is a historical time-travelling drama based on the books by Diana Gabaldon. Claire Randall (played by Catriona Balfe) is a married nurse living during the Second World War in 1945. She gets transported back in time to Scotland in 1743, during the Jacobite risings, where she meets a dashing Highland warrior.
The first series of Outlander had 16 episodes, broadcast in 2014-15.
