The Village is a drama set in a Derbyshire village in the 20th century. It is a BBC drama following the life of Bert Middleton, played by various actors as he ages. Each series covers a different period in history, e.g. the first series covered 1914-1920 and series 2 was set in the 1920s.
Two series have been made so far, with 12 hour-long episodes in total. Peter Moffat, the writer, has said he hopes to make The Village into a 42-hour TV drama.
