During the next few years Argos is planning to open 35 new stores a year employing an additional 2,000 a year.
Argos is to grow capacity and improve customer shopping service in Argos Direct, the delivery to home operation. Sales by Argos Direct grew by 50% compared to last year. It accounted for sixteen percent of Argos' sales - up from twelve percent last year. Preparation for the construction of the new Argos Direct warehouse has started, with completion planned before the end of the current financial year.
