Annual Fleet Excellence Awards.
RAC Breakdown Cover Background
RAC breakdown cover has been offered by the RAC organization
for over a hundred years and is a well established brand for motoring
services within the UK with almost 100% recognition within the
country. Established as the Automobile club in December 1887 promoting
the interests of UK motorists they first introduced breakdown
patrols in 1901. The Royal Automobile Club was so named after
the organization gained royal approval in 1907. Currently RAC
recovery offers a much more sophisticated roadside service
than the original service introduced at the beginning of the 1900's.
RAC brakedown car cover has continuously striven to improve
performance and customer satisfaction by embracing new innovations
to consistently increase service levels. Currently about 7 million
individuals have RAC cover from one of their existing five
packages - which offer a variety of roadside, recovery, at home
and onward travel options. The hard work of the RAC patrol teams
have ensured their award at the 2004 J.D. Power & Associates
UK Roadside Assistance Study which ranked the RAC as top roadside
rescue and recovery company. Furthermore their innovative use
of their IT systems have also been recognized when at the 2004
Annual National Customer Service Awards they picked up the Best
use of technology in customer service.
