Disneyland Paris Resort first opened it's gates to the general public on April 12th 1992, almost four years since the partnership between the French government and Disney had first been forged. In October 1994 the entertainment complex changes its name from Euro Disney (a name still used by many) to Disneyland Paris. In 1995 the big thrill ride Space Mountain opened and two years later the Gaumont multiplex theatre opens at Disney village. In 2000 Val d'Europe the international shopping center opens followed two years later by Walt Disney Studios opens it doors and becomes a resort for all the family with its combination of Disney parks, Disney village, seven themed Disney hotels, 27 hole golf course, swimming pools, fitness centres, tennis courts and ice rink. Summer 2003 sees the launch of a new new parade - fantillusion featuring illuminations of Disney favourite characters in lights and Summer 2004 sees the launch of the Lion King show a 30 min Broadway performance of the film. 2005 marks 50 years celebration of Disney theme parks and to mark this golden anniversary they are introducing new shows and attractions such as Space Mountain Mission 2 at Disneyland Paris Resort.
