Currys was a successful chain when it was incorporated
into the Dixons group in 1984. This acquisition by Dixons brought

their own separate brand identity within the Dixon's group Curry's

In this period since the mid 1980's Currys Dixons has seen
many successful acquisitions to the brand such as Bridgers, Orbit
and Wigfalls with the brand emerging as the largest electrical
retailer in the country. Recent sales are over £1.7 million
(2003/4) from over 4 million square feet of prime retail space.
On average each store represents over ten thousand square feet
and Currys electrical shops are served by over 9,000 full time
