Breaking Bad: The Complete Series

With four years since the end of Breaking Bad there is no better time to revisit the rise and fall of Walter White. It's hard to believe now, but Breaking Bad spent most of its time on air being under-appreciated and barely seen by the viewing public. That is, until season four which, through critical praise, and word of mouth, threw the show into the spotlight: making it one of the most celebrated shows of all time when it ended after its fifth season. So, is it as good as you remember? It's better.

Breaking Bad: Complete Series Review

Starring Bryan Cranston as Walter White: a high school chemistry teacher who, with the help of his former student Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), starts cooking meth after he is diagnosed with lung cancer. This begins Walter's perilous introduction to the seamy underbelly of Albuquerque, New Mexico's drug scene, giving rise to his criminal alter-ego Heisenberg.

Created by former X Files writer Vince Gilligan, Breaking Bad has become one of the most iconic shows ever to grace the small screen. Winning countless awards: including sixteen Prime-time Emmy Awards (two for Outstanding Drama Series, Four Lead Actor Awards for Bryan Cranston, three Outstanding Supporting Actor Awards for Aaron Paul, etc), the show has a permanent place in popular culture.

It's not just the crazy exploits of Walter and Jesse that make the show so watchable, as Breaking Bad has an excellent group of supporting characters, including Walter's long-suffering wife Skylar, his brother-in-law Hank who works for the DEA, and less than savoury characters like "criminal" lawyer Saul Goodman, crime lord Gus Fring, and all-round fixer Mike.

Relive the tense action, dark comedy, and emotionally complex storytelling that made every other television show up their game. Just don't go near that Blue Crystal.
