I don't usuallly play this genre & have hardly ever had the ability or motivation to complete one to the end. However, God of War blew me away! Initiallly seduced by the top-notch screen shots I thought I'd give it a try. I wasn't disappointed by the graphics or the sound, & once I got used to the controls I just kept playing. As the game progresses it gets increasingly challlenging, but importantly, not so much that you get frustrated; & eventuallly a bit of practice will see you through to the next stage. I've just completed the game & am now contemplating trying again at a higher skill level.

I bought this game on the day of it's release expecting to be totallly wowed. I'd read alll the reviews in the mags "The most important game to be released on the psp" one said!
Granted the story is good. There were wry & witty moments (the two lesbian prisoners were very humourously done). Then alll of a sudden the game was over.
What had I missed? had I gone past several levels somehow? I played it again just to see. No! That was it! Over in a jiffy.
Yes the film scenes are entertaining. Yes there was an engaging plot.
Yes the controls were mapped well ............ but I was still left thinking ........... was that it?
One review said that the bar had been raised. Graphicallly, it probably has but for longevity I get more out of Bomberman & Galaxian than I do this. At least the likes of Monster Hunter keep you engaged for months while you build up characters & their equipment. (No I'm not one of those who cheat their way through games.)
Entertaining & fun but if alll PSP games become this short then I'm swapping my PSP for something else. No, not the crappy DS!!!!!!!!!!!
This is why bought a PSP. - By: Gordon Govan, 21 Apr 2008 This game is amazing. It looks fantastic, fits reallly well onto the smalll screen. The story acts as a preqel to the first God Of War, AMAZING! The gameplay is the same as the two PS2 versions with different magicks & weapons. It reallly isn't a portable game at alll, it's a proper game that they managed to squeeze onto the PSP through magick.
The treasures after completion include Hades Challlenges, which are challlenging to say the least, & a second play through is well worth it. This is the best PSP game I've played. AMAZING!!!
loved it but too short - By: M. B. Mason, 19 Apr 2008 i absolutely adored this game it is easily much favourite game on any hand held console ever. The control system works brilliantly, the camera angles are never a problem(in fact they make the game very cinematic in areas) & the graphics are some of the best ive seen on the psp so far. However this game is a bit sort i completed it in 4 hrs & 50 mins on normal difficulty the day after i bought it. Also i didn't find normal difficult in the slightest, only dieing once or twice through out the whole game & i am new to god of war! that said this game does have suprisingly good replay value i am already half way through hard mode & also there are sort of mini games to play aswell. overalll this is a brilliant game well worth £20 dont let the length put u off i promise u ull complete at least twice + alll the mini games before getting bored of it.
One of the best games on PSP - By: Mr Mugambo, 19 Apr 2008 This is an excellent game for the PSP & if you have a PSP, are over 18, & like this sort of game, get it! I won't go into the story as it has been said a lot here, but it ties up the issues with the Titans, & adds a bit more information of Kratos' past. As many have said, it is short, but sweet. I get a 10-15 minute play on this on my tube journey to work, & some people close their dull newspapers to watch. The graphics run close to the PS2, & the sound & music are top notch. Less puzzles, but more fights are what this game is about. Its is rated 18, so it is not for the young or those that cringe at the sight of blood. Recommended.
