plain and simple a bad game - By: Mrs. H. Mullan, 19 May 2008
2 stars is alll is as much as i could force myself to give this game, it is just terrible. combat is repetitive, the grabs u do on machinery is the same everytime so even if you're at the part your grabbing you'll still fly around & do the wee scene of taking it off. although the flying is a tad fun at the beginning, the novelty wears off soon enough & then it's just a bad, bad game. the camera angles are terrible, you'll be wanting to fly in a direction & suddenly the camera will flip, meaning you cant see where your going.... graphicallly it isn't amazing either, not using the ps3's full potential at alll. this game poses no challlenge at alll, it is almost impossible to die coz alll you need to do is reroute your power to your life support & your fine, & then route it again to thruster's to get an unlimited afterburning.. alll in alll terrible terrible game
Steaming Pile of Meh. - By: I. D. Clarke, 07 May 2008
Ugh... This is one of those games i played way longer than i should've done just trying to justify my purchase. I thought maybe, just maybe a movie-game would be good. The trailers made it look quite a lot of fun, but then thats the idea i suppose.
The controls for this game are shocking & combined with the awful camera angles make for a very frustrating experience, Iron Man moves way to fast & jumpy for the camera to possibly keep up. It felt like i was playing an old 16-bit game where you can only move at 45 degree angles. About the coolest thing in the game is grabbing things like helicopters & tanks & ripping them appart, but once you've done it once you've done it a thousand times as the animations are alll the same. And the timing of the move seemed pot luck.
With a few tweaks to the controls & a wider camera angle it might be a half decent game. The most frustrating thing is you cant lock-on to your enemies & keep the camera locked on them, the result is you end up playing Iron Man more like a fighter plane than a guy in a suit doing fly-by's on your target.
The graphics i guess aren't bad but you'd have to be very easily pleased by them to think this was a good game, they make it barely playable for a while. After so long i just couldn't take any more.
You'd have to be a moron or a massive Marvel fan to buy this, if you must see for yourself then rent it.
Put Some More Effort Into Games Please Marvel - By: Samuel Morgan, 04 May 2008
Annuallly treated to a superhero-fest of some sort on the silver screen, & equallly bombarded by; rushed, poor attempts at a film tie-in. I talk of efforts such as; the spiderman movie games, batman begins: the game, the incredible hulk: the game & so many more.
Having waited for an Iron Man film for so long, & having ENJOYED the Iron Man film, immensely, today, I was anticipating a good effort, considering the fact that the premise of Iron Man lends itself to a game almost perfectly; upgradeable armour suits, multi-weapons, engaging storyline & flight ability.
But, unsuprisingly, the game leaves a lot to be desired. Bad camera views, generic enemies, repetitive combat, lacklustre voice over acting & weak storyline.
The look of the game is undoubtedly impressive, but the controls ruin any sort of enjoyment factor. If the Sixaxis controller was enabled with vibration function, then the game might have some sort of 'feel' to it, but with the Dualshock PS3 controller not yet released, the game doesnt have any grounding what-so-ever.
The trend of movie to game franchises flopping, & game to movie blockbusters disappointing, doesnt seem to be changing anytime soon, but as more Iron Man films seem to be on their way, maybe Sega can get their act together next time around.

Missed opportunity. This game should be fun but is plagued by a dreadful control system & run of the mill action.
