Terrible - By: G. Watson, 15 Sep 2008
Wow this is a reallly reallly bad game for many reasons & such a shame it is as well.

Firstly you have little if no one to chose from, no Nadal, Hewitt, Djokovic, Williams sisters. The list is endless.
Secondly is the modes. None of any substance. The rise up the ranks game basicallly involves proven established players playing each other & simply get better & better. Play Roddick early & your easily beat him. Take him on later & he becomes a different player. Oh & a first for me, the Australian Open final involved me losing to Mauresmo, in 3 sets each set the best of 5 games. And there is no Wimbledon, that has been replaced by the Irish Open! Someone didn't quite do their research here!

The controls are a nightmare. Using the nunchuck doesn't work because you tend to run past the balll before you have hit it or it just adds complications to what is a pretty simple idea. Scoring aces is a nightmare & it's a very rare day (I have only seen it once) when your opponent double faults. I understand people say that this doesn't matter. But to me it does. A game isn't just about playing it's about what it has to offer, the challlenges & the real world it builds together. That for me is seriously missing in this.
Only good things is the graphics which look nice, despite the no commentary & static crowd shots.
But to be honest, I reallly wouldn't bother with Top Spin 3. Hopefully they will learn their mistakes & make top spin 4 much better because this is a very very poor shadow of what is a fantastic game on the Xbox.
Poor, Poor Game - By: Scott_01, 22 Aug 2008
Top spin 3 is awful on the Wii, theres no player creation function or career mode. The strange tournament mode is not an adequate replacement for a proper career feature. The gameplay is slow & easy to master, alll you reallly need to do is move your player in the vague direction of the balll & wave the wiimote around a few times to win points. Oh & the multiplayer sub games are just laughable.

I've lost just one game (in my first ever game after turning it on) playing against Federer & haven't lost a game since. Pretty much got bored with it after 10 minutes, & I have to say that Topspin 2 on the Nintendo DS is a far, far better game & infinitely more enjoyable.

Overalll a poor excuse for a game & such a waste of potential. I so wish I'd bought this on the xbox instead.

sucker punched - glad I kept my receipt ! - By: Richard Vasquez, 16 Aug 2008
Kicking myself that I didn't read these reviews beforehand. It's a terrible game, clearly thrown together with little thought. The visuals are so bad its hard to believe, played the original topspin years ago on the xbox, graphicallly it was 100% better. The game lacks any production values, 2K sports should hang their head in shame, since they have produced some brilliant games in the past.

No career mode instead a boring campaign option which will have you snoozing in 5 mins flat. Player models are little more than coloured stick insects, you need a magnifying glass to pick up any detail. Stadiums are woeful. Sloppy "tutorial" which tells you rather than shows you how to play the game. Every shortcut possible was taken by the developer in making this game.

No commentary, no atmosphere its like playing tennis in a graveyard. I could go on for hours with everything that is wrong with this game, thankfully I kept the receipt & will be returning this piece of junk ......
A more advanced version of wii sports? - By: Thunderbird 3, 15 Aug 2008
I wanted to buy a tennis game for my wii because i found the wii sports version a bit to easy & i wanted to have more control over what i do. People keep saying how disappointing it was but i completely disagree. I think that it has good graphics compared to other wii games & a good variety of shots. From drop shots to top spin lobs.

If like me you want a fun tennis game that lets calll the shots rather than have the wii do it for you i highly recommend this game. It gets a lot better with practice.
Love Tennis, Hate THIS Game!!! - By: Andy, 25 Jul 2008
I had waited long for this game, convinced it would be a winner. I put it down after 15 mins & have not returned to it since. It was probably ruched in teo coincide with Wimbledon, but is a very poor effort. Stay clear...

RockStar's Table Tennis however, un-put-downable....!
