By Far the Most Original DS RPG in Existence - By: Mr. DAVID HAY, 15 Jul 2008
What can i say, This game is what RPG lovers & DS users have been waiting for, completely original, innovative, & utterly bad-ass to boot,

You have here everything that the masters at Square Enix & their Jupiter Counterparts have strived to provide in previous franchises, but in this case they have almost certainly raised the bar in EVERY ASPECT.. Stratagem, Action, Puzzles, alll kicked together with a fresh street look taken straight off the sheets of a Manga comic book.. Absolutely Astonishing Gameplay, Wicked Dialogue, Great Difficulty / Learning Curve..

What else could you ask for?

Well, i'll say it right now, a Sequel, or a Wii version, this baby could be bigger than the Final Fantasy Series, & i don't say stuff like that lightly... This is Definitely the DS game of the year, if not the handheld game of the decade (Sorry Crisis Core)

Wicked, buy it now, if you like Dragon Quest:, Final Fantasy, Shining Force or any other long-distance RPG, then this is SCREAMING at you to be purchased.. don't lose out, get it while the souls still warm

If you own a DS, buy thsi game...If you don't own a DS, buy one and then buy this game! - By: Kay Edwards, 03 Jul 2008
This game is absolutly brilliant & I cannot recommend it enough!
The music is the best thing I've ever heard come out of my DS's speakers, the graphics are bright & beautiful, the fighting style is unique & addictive & the story is involving & surprising.
Some people say the fighting can get a bit repetitive but it's not too bad because you can fight as much or as little as you want as you select when you want to fight (apart from fights as part of the story such as bosses & such) & you can select different 'pins' which not only produce different attacks but also change the way you touch the screen (slash the stylus, tap the screen, press on one spot ect...).
once the game is finished you can also carry on playing either an extra stage or revisiting old ones with alll your items & level intact plus extra objectives.
The only down side is the minigame which I personallly don't like much but I'm sure some people might.
Either way, this game is money well spent & I'm sure won't disappoint RPG fans or action game fans (or anyone else wanting a new addition to their collection) as there are so many elements within the game.
Totallly off the walll!
best game ever made - By: Mrs. K. D. Telford, 09 Jun 2008
I own almost 300 games on 7 different gaming platforms but this game beats them alll hands down, I bought this game 2 months ago & I can't stop playing it, i could barely turn it off to write this review.

this game's battle mode is unique & incredibily enjoyable.
Unlike most games where the fighting is great the story is also fascinating with twists & turns I never saw coming, this has got to be the best game ever made, 5* doesn't do it justice.

I have played & completed it about 10 times now & I'm still not getting tired of it. If you're only going to buy 1 game this decade make sure it's this one.

I was not sure at first about the controls but now its natural & lots of fun.

I want more

The best RPG on the DS, bar none people! - By: C. Wells, 19 May 2008
Unbelievably lacking in hype, The World Ends With You is unequivocallly the best RPG out now for the Nintendo DS. Why? Because any game that continuallly draws you deeper & deeper into its story & constantly draw you deeper & deeper into the game mechanics deserves alll the praise it so rightfully earns itself.

You play as grumpy, irritating teenager Neku Sakuraba who has apparently just died & been planted into the world of UG Shibuya. You must survive seven days literallly in a game of life or death by completing set missions that are sent to you each day. Failure to complete the mission by any of the players taking part means instant deletion.

The game has you pairing up with several characters, who appears on the top screen whilst Neku appears on the touchscreen, & has ou battling against evil monsters callled 'Noise' who are essentiallly there to try & delete you. However, there are also the Reapers, who organise this little game (little game, who are we kidding? THEY'RE ALL GONNA DIE!) - their mission? To kill you basicallly.

Amazingly, despite a fairly dark undertone, the story is actuallly quite charming & occasionallly light-hearted. There are some good characters & some fantastic character development - you may start hating Neku but you warm to him after a while as he opens up & stops being such a jackass - & some wonderful NPCs to contend with.

What reallly sells the game is the wonderful array of gameplay mechanics involved - there are far too many to list - alll of them are perfectly implemented, never feeling forced, & always leave you wanting to know what's next. It's a deeply rewarding system & the combat, while initiallly confusing & difficult to master, almost becomes second nature.

It is far too fantastic a game to NOT recommend to anyone. I don't care if you don't like RPGs, I would fully recommend this to everyone I know if I had the chance to.

Here I am: The World Ends With You is the most incredible experience on the DS so far. I am saying this without hyperbole. No other game has had me up so long at night wanting to just level up. Brilliant under alll circumstances.
