Excellent - By: Lee, 19 Jul 2008
Ok heres the truth...

When i bought this i had absolutely no intention of using XBOX LIVE, alll i wanted out of this machine was to play Grand Theft Auto 4. So i purchased the arcade version, GTA4, & the XBOX 360 Component cables (so i could play in HD) & i was & still am over the moon. However after a while i wanted to play XBOX LIVE so i went onto ebay, purchased a 20gb hardrive for £16.99 & a headset for £10 which attached to the wireless controller provided in this package & i was away. So if you buy this you will have everything you need to play games right away including Halo 3, GTA4 etc... but if you want to go on XBOX LIVE & download content etc... go on ebay purchase a HDD & a headset & away you go.

£150 = XBOX 360 Arcade

£5.99= HD Conponent cable (only the standard one is provided with this)

£16.99 = 20GB Harddrive from ebay

£10 = Headset for XBOX LIVE

= 182.98 still far cheaper than the premimum & elite version

EXCELLENT, will get everyone off the ground, & if you want more from this package, simply upgrade, no need to go & sell this & buy premiumum packages etc... may i also add, this console comes with HDMI & when attached to HDTV, is simply breathetaking.
Suitable for a few - By: F. Franklin, 17 Jul 2008
Please ONLY buy this console if you have no intention of usingf xbox live, as you will very quickly need the premium version. Not having a harddrive has many drawbacks if you want to use the machine as anything but a machine to use games that buy buy on disks on. If you plan to buy games & movies online, chat, downlaod themes, movies & previews & the like, I woudl reccomend getitng the premium, or if you're a hardcore gamer like me, save up & get an elite, it reallly is worth the money.
£150 to play GTA IV am I mad? - By: Mr. G. Loker, 12 Jun 2008
Bought this solely to play GTA IV & it was worth every penny. the wireless controller(doubles as dvd remote.) is great & bloody lazy! you can turn the console on & off with it. DVD playback is great quality. I have since played halo3 & rainbow6 equallly as good & the xbox360 is staying! no hard drive but a completed GTAIV game takes up 10% of the 256mb memory card.

The size of the mains transformer made me chuckle though, its not callled the brick for nothing.)
These are still not fixed - By: L. Skipper, 11 May 2008
I have bought the new Xbox 360 arcade with the improved Falcon chipset with HDMI output looking for a more reliable console than the previous versions of the Xbox 360, & with gentle care & loads of ventilation it breaks down after 5 months of reallly not alot of gaming, Mine wont load any Xbox 360 games now from a CD, All it now says is Open tray on the dashboad with a disc inside, i have tried alll of there sugestions on there website & nothing has worked i am extremely annoyed with this being my 3rd Xbox 360. The last 2 were the original spec Xbox 360's that broke on me, Please alll be aware that these are not the answer still, i won't be getting another Xbox 360 after this & i shalll be selling the replacement as soon as it arrives.
What can I say?! - By: Mr. S. Burns, 26 Apr 2008
Before anyone says I am a fanboy or anything else i wanted to say something, I own a ps3 & a 360 & am happy with both, i believe they both have good points & bad & personal preference is the key.

Recently my xbox 360 had decided it hated me after 13 months & packed in.
Refused to get my console repaired, lets face it, who knows when it will go again!

Begged my partner to Order me a 360 arcade while i was at work so i could get it before the weekend :P & had it out the box & set up in 2 mins flat when it got here, the included games are pretty good considering, but buy more believe me!!! have my hard drive from my old premium but im not using it, the missus has just ordered a arcade for our son so im gonna let him have it, he plays so much more than me, shame i have to work :)!
All in alll i would recommend the arcade, yes i know it doesnt have a headset, it doesnt have a hard drive & only a composite av lead, but at £160 can anyone reallly say your getting ripped off?

In my case the premium/elite would have been a waste, i already have a hdmi cable, I have a wireless headset & am not worried about downloading off xbox live so its the perfect console for me, even if you dont have those things for a change i agree with microsoft, just buy what you want, when you want it, when you can afford it or whatever.
Take the plunge, its worth it, & at this price you can enjoy with a no guilt, enjoy!!!
