The Problem - By: CoopXP, 21 Jul 2008
All 360's are fab they are simply amazing consoles, for playing with your friends, playing solo & the best feature which is online.
this console is definately the best for its money....

of course IF, microsoft actuallly used decent parts.
half the comments about the 360 that ive heard have stated that its either rubbish, broke down a year or 6 months (and some even less!) after purchase - i bought the console in mid september 2007 & in march 08 th unplayable disc error occured & still persists with most my games- or that they've changed to the the ps3 after experiencing the problems with the 360.

so lets cover some the most common problems with the 360:

-Ring of death
-Unplayable disc error
-open disc tray/ no disc error
-freezing

oh dear
your probably thinking "why so?". Because microsoft uses parts from a junkyard.
the only reason my 360 wont play my games is because the hdd (hard disk drive) is too retarded to spin the disc.

i have to physicaly get the console & shake it in a way so that the disc inside spins, & let me tell you, it takes 1 & a half hours of effort until it finallly works. by the way alll my discs (apart from two second hand ones) have no scratches on them.

oh actuallly, wait, the hdd actualy scratched my spiderman 3 disc (2 weeks old when it scratched) & now the disc has 2 lines going around the disc making it look like a target...
great.
so theres your problem. if your ever thinking of complaining to microsoft tell them to get better quality parts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
replaced! - By: N. Shaw, 17 Jul 2008
The XBOX 360 elite was my fourth 360. note the past tense "was". I bought a 360 a year & a bit ago, which broke down just around 3 months later with the RROD. it was replaced soon after by the retailer & the next one was the best one - it lasted about 6 months. died with a disc drive error. again, still within a year so was replaced by the retailer - the next one lasted around 4/5 monts before yet another RROD. Then, hoping for a fully functional 360, ordered an elite. 12 weeks. 12 weeks & it RROD'd. i could have got it replaced but, i was very, VERY tired with the whole charade & so ordered myself a PS3 console which - & dont say im being biased here because this is my honest opinion - is much quieter, much prettier (the games in general just look better), can play movies out of the box & has free online play unlike the XBOX - plus, Resistance: Falll of Man, Motorstorm, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune & Ratchet & Clank are as good if not better than any XBOX elclusives i played *cough*Halo 3*cough*. So my advice to you, reader is to ignore this piece of garbage & buy yourself a PS3.

Make It An Elite, Sir.... - By: M. Smith, 26 Jun 2008
I am a pretty avid gamer & have been trying to decide for ages which console to buy. As a Nintendo fanboy, I was one of the few who was able to buy a Wii on launch day, & I wasn't too disappointed - but it wasn't reallly the games console that I wanted, it is more of a toy that is kinda cool when your friends come round. So about two months ago, I thought I would buy either the PS3 or the 360. My flatmate has had the Premium 360 (20gb etc.) for a while now & that pushed me in the direction of Microsoft, & the high price of the PS3 & the infuriating controller put me off. So - why should you buy the Elite?
It's arrived, & I've played it for a good while. It's remarkably quiet - alll new 360s feature the Falcon 65nm motherboard reducing heat & therefore noise - & in black looks seriously cool. The 360 controller I think is fantastic, as it alllows you to control alll the buttons and, cruciallly, both analogue sticks with ease. The PS3 controller I find to be superb unless you use the analogue sticks, in which case you need to hold it slightly out of your hands. Sure, the 360 doesn't have Wi-Fi built in, but if you're planning on using it for gaming you are much better off buying a 20m CAT5e LAN cable & plugging it in to your router - the latency is superb & if you hook up your PC you can watch alll your films, or plug in your iPod to the 360 & listen to your music...it's awesome. Go Elite.
Reliability issues! - By: G. Mcfarland, 17 Jun 2008
I have owned the premium console since its launch those many years ago, For me my 360 has performed flawlessly, been dropped on its side, had drink spilt on it. It has also had the 3 & 4 red lights, but still it plays on. I'll put this down to shear luck & not microsoft build quality! ;) My one pain about the console is the dam disk drive noise, it is like a plane taking off! other than that its the ballls! xbox live also rocks, the PS3 online is slow & always craps out on me!
