controls difficult? My four year old can do it! - By: T. J. Smith, 14 May 2008
This is an excellent game. There is huge variety in the games; they are innovative & varied. The graphics are excellent as you would expect. More events unlock as you play the game more which increases its longevity.
Some other reviews complain about the complexity of the controls. This surprises me as my children (aged four & seven) can both manage to play it very well. They have both successfully won several gold medals & broken many world records, so if they can manage it I should think anybody could (if they could be bothered to read the instructions which are presented before each event).
Overalll, it's an excellent game. As with many Wii games, it is definitely geared towards the younger gamer, & it hits this target market very well.
Just be careful, it can be very exhausting! You'll need the stamina of an Olympian to keep up with the kids.

I have this game on DS & Wii, the graphics are better on wii but on the Ds it is easyer. With the wii you need the nunchuk alot & you hit yourself with it & you know about it ! lol. Very Good Game..x.
Interesting........ - By: John Hood, 03 May 2008
This game is a decent one but, i feel over-hyped. For example picking things on the menu it makes these peculiar sounds. Also i think the characters are a bit cheesy!! over alll its a decent game but over priced...
No wonder there have been street protests about the olympics... - By: Spuddy Spud, 29 Apr 2008
I honestly cannot understand why anyone enjoys this game.
The hard times started right from the get-go before a starting pistol was even fired when the file creator screen would not alllow me to enter my nickname (Spud) or any variation of it. It wouldn't even alllow me to enter my real name. What on earth is this alll about? I'm not connected to the web, so it's not even as if I'm duplicating someone else's gamer tag. It eventuallly alllowed me to enter Spud with a diaresis over the u!
After that, things went downhill. Using the controls is a very arcane science, since it's difficult to use the buttons with the accuracy required when you're franticallly waving them up-and-down to get speed. Your hands slip, or mine did anyway, & flicking the remote to jump, etc., is a hit-and-miss affair becasue there is no on-screen indication to tell you whether you did it too hard or soft. You have to wait to get your rubbish results, & hope for the best on the next attempt. The games are alll a bit too difficult, particularly for a game which is likely to appeal to youngsters, & waggling the controls around results in the wire linking the nunchuck to the remote to sommersault like a skipping rope. I tried playing it sitting down, & had a smack in the eye with the wire for my troubles. Play it standing up & the wire can become tangled around the controllers. When you switch from a twin-control to a single control game or vice versa, it keeps annoyingly asking you to disconnent or re-attach the nunchuck, even when the nunchuck would not get in the way, like on the skeet shooting game. I can't imagine alll this does the controllers much good. You have to go through the tiresome rigmarole of about three button presses when you want to replay any event, & in any case once you've succeded in an event there's little incentive to play again anyway, because the games are alll pretty dull.
On the plus side, the graphics & sound are quite nice, but presentation counts for little when the games are not much good. I for one will be trading this game in at the soonest opportunity - I don't think any alternative could be much worse.
Got to have it!!! - By: C. Burgess, 27 Apr 2008
This is a great game & got me into Olympics alot more. Now I want to see every event in the games!! Anyway, back to the game...Haven't played Circuits or Missions yet, but have played Single Match mode, which is the normal playing mode. Brilliant graphics - clear & bright. Instructions on how to use the wii remote or wii remote & nunchuk are very clear. A wide variety of games on there, but there's a twist - a good one! When you get an extra good score on a game, you unlock a new Circuit & a new game in Single Match mode. This basicallly gets you more things to do on the game. Discovered this game from a freind & we were on it alll night!!! Lots of Mario & Sonic characters to choose from for each event. The characters are separated into these catagories: Power Type, All-Around, Skill Type & Speed Type. Try out different characters for each event, see which one works best for you. I've found that Daisy is best for swimming, Sonic is best for running, Peach is best for High Jump, Bowser is best for Hammer Throw, Blaze is best for Trampolining & Mario is best for the Dream Race. I've still yet to uncover the rest!!!
