You need this if you like gaming! - By: Steven Holt, 08 May 2008
I have had this console for over 2 years now & it just keeps getting better. I'm not going to get into alll the details like other reviews but am a gaming fan that loves alll types of games ( have a wii too ), just here to say if you are even considering it - buy it & enjoy.
It's great! - By: R. Martin, 08 May 2008
My boyfriend bought me an Xbox 360 for my birthday & I love it! I was reallly nervous at first because I've heard that many people have had trouble with it, but nothing funny has happened with mine. The graphics are superb & I love the dashboard. It also looks brilliant with my new HDTV. The only downside is the fan - it's very loud when watching dvds. But other than that, I reallly like it & have had loads of fun with it. The PS3 is probably a better machine but if you want to save money & liked the old Xbox I'd say go for it.

I only got the 360 because of the games it has to offer. I had the black x-box & is was brilliant, & the games rocked. That's what pushed me to get the 360, sequels. I heard alot about overheating, but I hadn't had any problems. Saying that, I lie the 360 flat & propped up between two sets of dvd cases; leaving every corner open to let out any heat.
All in alll the 360 rocks!
Best next gen console...?? - By: Mr. J. Porter, 30 Apr 2008
I'm on my second 360 now, but they are so worth it! My first was bought feb '07 & had the old Xenon motherboard (90nm CPU & GPU) & it served me well with days upon days of Gears of War online! Fantastic... Then the 3 red rings!(RROD) I'm sending that one off soon but i picked up an arcade one new & am using that now! (had to for GTA IV!!)

I have checked, it has the 175W power consumption, HDMI port & contains the new Falcon motherboard :D (90nm GPU & 65nm CPU). I think anyone now buying one is pretty much guaranteed to get the new motherboard!!!!

---Note that the new falcon boards run cooler (not quieter sadly :P) & i'm not expecting it to stop the RROD... maybe delay it... this is because the main cause of the rings was because the GPU (*NOT* the CPU) overheats & because the GPU is EXACTLY the same in this (w/revised heatsink & cooling) i expect it will suffer the same fate!! Time will tell!---

But on a happier note, this console is amazing! Good choice of outputs (now scart, HDMI version 1.2, component & VGA) & output quality (from 480i throught to 1080p). The games on it are awesome, Gears of War, Bioshock, Forza 2, GTA IV, Halo 3 & the list grows!! Xbox live is fantastic... works seamlessly at the worst of times, & is the most fun anyone can have! DVD upscaling is fab if your not interested in going for HD DVD (although now just blue ray) & 1080i (highest on my tv) looks awesome! But why the console is loud playing a DVD beats me!!!! Controllers are comfy & layed out well... And i think thats it!

BUY ONE!!!!!

But being a nintendo fan... the Wii is still better! :)
X-Box Rip-off - By: CWA Haynes, 22 Apr 2008
I had the misfortune to buy an X-Box a year ago for my sons. It has been in for repare twice during this time & has just failed again. On one occasion the whole thing was replaced, only to fail again in a month.

What my lads now have is a pile of games, (some scratched by the machine) & a broken X-box.

If you are thinking of buying one. Be warned. When you send it back for repair, the courier company just laugh. At least someones happy with this shambles!!
