A Handy Backup Memory Card, But Not Very Big Enough In One Way! - By: Mrs. Dawnc Alexandre, 10 Apr 2007
I had this Memory Card given to me by my brother because it turned out that, he decided to get a 251 Block Memory Card for himself & kept the old 59 Block I gave to him! This Memory Card has no difference towards the traditional Nintendo Gamecube 59 Block Memory Card! It's storage capacity is exactly the same, except that JoyTech makes it & it's in a different colour!

At this moment, I'm only using this as a backup Memory Card for storing alll my finished Nintendo Gamecube Games, just in case the 251 Block Memory Card malfunctions & I loose alll the data! I also use this one in case I go out to a friend's house with copied data, just to be sure that any data erased, overwritten or destroyed can be replaced with the original copy from my other Memory Card!

The main problem though is the size. It may be 59 Blocks! Happy days, but it doesn't help me for when I will have to make a copy for a large game when it's finished! I'm at a stage where I could be finishing Super Smash Bros. Melee soon & that alone takes 11 Blocks (excluding snapshots). That alone will probably eat the rest of the data on the Memory Card since I've already transferred completed game data of a few games such as Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Kart: Double Dash, Pikmin, Wario World & a couple more!

My Grade For The Memory Card: 7/10: On The Balll, Down-But Not Out, OK

My Wish: I just wish that the Memory Card had more block units for more space storage use! If only it was about 75-100 Blocks, that would have done the trick for me!

Final Comments: Overalll, I recommended if you wish to keep you're completed game data backed up for emergency use! But in another way, it also depends upon how many games & how frequent you play on the Nintendo Gamecube! Let's put it this way. If you own more than 15-20 Gamecube Games, get a 251 Block Memory Card, if you own about 5-10 Gamecube Games which take less than 59 Blocks each, get one of these! If you're stuck on choice, or you're going to obtain more Nintendo Gamecube Games than you think, I recommend you getting both! After alll 251+59=310 Blocks can sure be handy! Remember that the new Nintendo Wii has just be released as well & you never know what data may need to be saved onto the Nintendo Gamecube Memory Card's using the Nintendo Wii!

You get what you pay for... - By: Mrs. S. W. Fells, 09 Oct 2004
It may be cheep but you can't fit a lot on it.

Save your money & get a card with more space on it for saving games. You can only fit about 3-4 saves on this one.

Newbis to the gamecube would benefit from this. After alll, if you've only just bought the GC your not gunna have many games... but i don't recomend this to anyone who has more than 4 games.

Cheapest memory card around... - By: John Dexter, 28 Nov 2003
This is a basic 4Mb /59 slot memory card from Joytech. They come in a range of colours (blue/black/grey/orange & transparent blue) & use uncompressed memory meaning no instability.
Due to its great price - the lowest I've seen - this would get 5 stars easily except it's about 1/2 a centimeter too long to fit in the holder inside the case of SSX3. It'll still go in the case loose but for those who are likely to keep cards in game cases it could be a smalll annoyance. Otherwise, it's brilliant.
The cheapest 4Mb /59slot Gamecube Memory card... - By: John Dexter, 28 Nov 2003
There's not too much to say when reviewing a memory card reallly. This one is a basic 4Mb /59 slot card from JoyTech's range which goes up through 8Mb & 16Mb to a maximum I think of 64Mb. This card comes in a choice of colours - black, blue, grey, orange & transparent blue which is nice if you get the choice. The best feature of this card is the price - I was amazed how cheap I could get a new memory card, much cheaper than official ones or any other 3rd party card I've seen. The only bad thing about this card is it doesn't fit in the memory card holder in the case for the game I've just bought, though you can still slip it into the case loose. I'm new to GC so whether it's just SSX3 having a odd box (unlikely), alll memory cards don't fit in any cases, or just that this one is 5mm too long I don't know. But it's only half the size of a credit card anyway. That's the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars - some people might find it annoying though I don't care at alll!
