The original and the best! - By: Mufflin, 04 Jul 2008
This is by far one of the greatest games on the Gamecube!! if you have never played it get it & stick it on your Wii!. This is a game that you can play little & often. There is only so much you can do each day in this game so when you are bored of racing around or blowing things up have a little chill out with Crossing. This game will make you laugh out loud!! some of the characters come out with the funniest things! yes the graphics look 'kiddy' but i assure you adults find this just as entertaining!. Its true that it can get repetative doing the same things each day (fishing, digging, writing letters) but to counter that there are special events on certain days & also the chance to travel to an island by connecting your DS up. This is just good wholesome fun! & like real life you start off by working to pay your mortgage off!! although its much more fun!.
No match for the ds version... - By: misterbright, 26 May 2008
First off, if your wondering wether to get the gamecube version of this or the ds version get the ds one. Its a whole lot better. This review is aimed at people who have got the ds one & wondering wether to get this one.
Good Points: More places than the ds version. Like you have the police station & the train station the dump & my faviourte, the wishing Well. The wishing well is like the town halll in the ds version. (The post office is like the town halll apart from no events are held there). The wishing well tells you how well your town is doing & can 'forgive you' for not delivering a present or letter. In certain events tables are put there with food or other stuff on.Another real cool thing is that the town has different levels because you can run up & down hills & see animals walking below you. This also means that you can fish above the waterfalll making waterfalll fishing alot easier. You can get NES games. But i found it pretty hard to get them. Also this game is alot more season based with windsocks in spring & campers coming to your town in summer. The festivals seem to be alot more season based in this one too.
The bad points: In the ds one it had a reallly good feel of just being able to relax & do whatever you want. In this one the game seems to force you to have an objective. There are more different types of festivals but they seem to occur less often with about 2 festivals a month. And about half the festivals alll you reallly do is talk to the mayor & get a gift, even the animals don't talk about some of the festivals. However, the ones which you do join in are reallly fantastic. To be honest I'm not too fussed over graphics but if you are bothered by bad graphics well you won't find this game to pleasing to the eye. The characters seem to be have designed by the Able Sisters clothe desing tool. You get alot of bluring. Also the sound is alll tinny. It does have more music & sound than the ds version butit doesn't seem to fit the mood. The gc version seems to miss out alll the little things to like smalll contests between you & a villager & villagers birthdays.
But if your like me & loved the ds version but it got a little old & you want a fresh animal crossing experience to keep you busy. Then this game is a must.
Animal Crossing - By: Bertie, 02 May 2007
Animal Crossing is not a conventional game. If you want quick thrills than you won't enjoy this, there are only a few obvious objectives & no killing, enemy defeating or puzzle solving.
Than why is this so fun? Think Sims mixed with nintendo. This is the result. You embark on a 2nd life within this town, helping other residents, paying off a mortgage & shopping for items to put in your house. During the year there are special events & collecting alll the bugs, fish & fossils will take an entire year as they only come out at certain times of the year. This may sound very dull & boring but it's superb fun. Graphicallly it's dissapointing but so full of character.
This is a superb game although i rated it at only a 3 as the superior Animal Crossing DS has been released.
It's not a game - it's another world - By: Cid Highwind is dead, 17 Apr 2007
I first heard about this game from a friend who's opinion I trusted - otherwise, I would not have touched it with a sizeable barge pole. So when I saw it second-hand for cheaper than I care to mention, I wasn't exactly in a hurry to get going.
I can't remember how long into the game I got before I was totallly hooked. It was probably a little over ten minutes. Something about the simplicity of life in my town (I callled it Hell - this was before I realised that such cynicism has no place in this game) got to me.
I could go on at length about what the games is actuallly about, but I think it's better to find out the easy way - by playing it for yourself.
brilliant - By: Master T. Knott, 11 Apr 2006
This is a brilliant Game because i found it gives you so much freedom in how you , your house & your town look, as you can buy & choose from hundreds of items & clothing & you can even make your own designs, which is funny if the other townsfolk start to wear it.
so if you like relaxing games that give you a chance to use your designer flair then buy it!
