This is a great strategy game! it may look like its for kids with the cute little soldiers & the tanks but when you get to the gameplay it can be quite hard. There was lots of variety as some levels you were at sea whereas others you took to the skys. It also alllowed you to earn bonuses so if you wanted to power your way in then you got bounus for being quick to finish...however if you wanted to be clever & plan a trap then you could go for different bonuses. I like turn based games & thought this was a great example!

(on GBA any way). It's a great multiplayer game especiallly the part that you don't even have to have a link cable. you can just pass the GBA around. On campaign you start off with a CO callled Andy & when you get further into the game you can also play as Max & Sami. you will have many opponent's from different army's. All you have to do to win is either capture the enemy HQ or destroy alll of the opponent's unit's. The main storyline is that the Black hole army is terrorising the world & it's up to the Orange star,Blue moon,Green earth,and Yellow comet army's to stop them.If you like war games this is the game for you.
A masterpeice - By: , 13 Jun 2004 this game is fantabulous. I've played it through several times & am still not bored with it. one of the best bits is its so easy to play multiplayer with freinds co su only need 1 gba ands 1 game.
Nintendo Does Chess - By: Richard Douglason, 15 Mar 2004 In my alll time top 5 Turn Based Strategy (TBS) games this ranks up there with the likes of Chess, Laser Squad & Battle Isle (for those of you who remember).
Being a TBS things proceed in turns. First you move & fire your units then your opponents do there's, & so on. Sounds simple, well it is to begin with, but like in chess you soon start getting wrapped up in complex tactics as you battle for the advantage.
The glory of this title is in it's attention to detail. Whether in the effect of terrain on your units, or how many bullets they have left, or how far they can shoot. All the information you could need is well modelled & easily available.
It also does it alll with great style, that means its a very compelling gaming experience. And you can literallly loose hours staring at your GBA.
Think I may go & have a quick game before work.
All in alll well worth it.
this is a wicked game. highly recommended - By: A. J. Reading, 14 Feb 2004 i first heard about this game from a friend who read about it in NGC magazine. so, i decided to go buy it, as did my friend. It is a reallly simple game to play, once you get the hang of firing on the enemy, & the design a map part i excelent. the vs mode is brilliant, you can either use a link cable or pass the one gameboy around. i am hoping to get advance wars 2: black hole rising for my birthday, becaue it will be even better than the first! My advice is BUY IT, AND BUY IT NOW!!! it is reallly worth it so what do you do...BUY IT!!!!!
