Yawn - By: Emily Mission, 28 Dec 2007
This game is not very fun. The levels are difficult & the character slips around a lot. I like to play against the bosses.
There is also the classic Mario game, which will trigger tears of nostalgia for 20-somethings, but is boring for me! Basicallly, the gameplay is this:
Go to level one. Play a boss. Go to level two. Play a boss.
And then this:
Whack the characters. Play again.
Wouldn't recommend.
Another brilliant Super Mario game - By: Darkmaster, 06 Aug 2007
This game is very good & will keep you amused for hours. It sometimes gets a little boring but for the majority of the time it is great. It is reallly good having both the games on it because it means you have an option of which game to play. It must be good as I am still playing it now on my DS & I got it soon after it came out so it was a good buy. This is a must buy for anyone who has a DS or a Game Boy Advance.
Super Mario Advance - By: Phoenix, 15 Oct 2006
Super Mario Advance; Vegetable Tugging Mania!
This is a reallly great start to Mario on the GBA. First it's new, different, & fresh with very different characters. In this Mario Plat-former you get to play as Mario, Luigi, Peach, & Toad. Also having distinctively different powers. Like Power, Jump & weight.... In this there are about seventy levels alll with a different aspect, also plenty of hidden things for example these urn things you can move Into & get a key!
When you have finished or on the way you have to collect A coins. Another different enjoyable part, which is not thrown In to lengthen the game. Every coin you collect is 1% & there are about three in each level.
Also after that is another mode, (I have completed the game 100% percent). Even More Is afterwards but I do not want to spoil it.. At the end you have a boss battle with an egg-throwing dinosaur, which you have to lob back at it, This is very Fun, the thing that makes It `Super Mario Advance' Is being able to pick up stuff, potions Enemies weeds & vegetables. Sadly you cannot pick up the enemies! Any other Mario game though currently doesn't have the option to pick up Enemies around with you, SMA:2 has similair but not as good as the first!
Although the Music can be quite strange, it sometimes is Jolly, It Is not annoying & fits Into the game. The game-play is reallly good on this & enjoyable can get frustrating on some levels. Plenty of things to get you playing for ages with added bonuses at the end. If you like this then you would probably Love Super Mario Advance 2 I did & still think It is one of the best Console games Ever!!
As one of the first launch games for the GBA it was a smashing hit & I Love it!

Retro gaming updated - By: , 18 Jan 2005
I played this back when it was available for the Nes & thought it would be nice to relive old memories on a new game system, looking back I was either a better player or this game was made much harder than the original.

The graphics look excellent, brilliantly updated & the sound has the addition of little snippets of speech. All in alll this is a very good re-make of an older game.

It should be noted this was never originallly designed as a mario game but the characters were included for the american & british audiences, with the original Japanese mario 2 being like the original mario.

Mmm.. not the usual brilliance - By: Sam, 05 Apr 2002
Basicallly this is maybe the worst Mario game I've played (but take into consideration that ANY Mario game is top-notch). Nothing new, no suprises, the gimmicks like the 2-in-1 game & extra characters are short lived. The game is also pretty easy. So, when the GBA was first released then yes by alll means you should of got it, but in the light of Sonic, Super Mario Advance 2, Wario Land 4, this pales in comparision.
