Robert Downey Junior and Jude Law return in their second Guy Richie directed film Sherlock Holmes A Game of Shadows. In their second instalment Watson is about to marry his fiancée Mary and thus end his dangerous association with Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock meanwhile is busy investigating his arch-nemesis Professor James Moriarty. All of Europe hangs in the balance as Holmes and Watson try to thwart Moriarty’s devious and deadly plans in Sherlock Holmes 2.
A game of shadows Sherlock Holmes 2 is as fast-paced as the previous film. Guy Richie returns to punch his style on this Holmes adaptation making it as thrilling as the first. Again the humour between Holmes and Watson lightens this film whilst providing some hard hitting insights into the inner workings of two genius minds – Sherlock Holmes and Professor Moriarty (ably acted by Robert Downey Jr and Jared Harris respectively). This time they are joined by Madam Simza Heron (Noomie Rapace), whose brother Renee may help them to defeat Moriarty, as well as the mysterious Irene Adler.
