Really? - By: N. FAYERS, 28 Feb 2010
I have finallly watched season 5 of SGA & alll I can reallly think & ask is, reallly? I mean, is that it? There were a lot of fantastic moments over the years & I literallly just rewatched The Rising & it was fantastic, & it was great to see the original characters & compare to the final episodes. Well done to them alll I loved it but still the fact remains that the last few episodes were a bit.. well did anyone else ever use the 5 minute stargate (5msg) website? I don't think they would've have had their worked cut out would they on that last episode. And Atlantis arrives, enemy destroyed, Atlantis crashes, alll survive, & *pose*. I understand they had probably intended for a 2 (or even 3) parter, & rightly so. I get that they had to jam a lot into an hour but that's exactly how it felt. Like they had done the first half hour, then realised actuallly we've got 14 minutes left, we'd better wrap this up.

I feel a touch cheated, & more than a little annoyed, & can I ask that Banks character, as lovely as she was. Did she deserve to be in the final shot? McKay's final cheesy line stung, & I just honestly wish I had never seen it. I mean, it's not like the films made up for it did they. Atleast I could've gone on believing that when I had been told that I would feel let down, that would just be the negative nature of my brother shining through. Once again I'm forced to concede. It just wasn't as good as it should have been.

I know I sound bitter, but that's because I am. I love Stargate SG-1, Atlantis, & I think I'm going to enjoy Universe, I am so far. But I truly hope that in 5 years, I don't find myself rewriting this, but with a few name changes. Because Atlantis didn't deserve to end like that, it reallly didn't. And neither does Universe.
AWESOME! - By: Robert Ferguson, 21 Feb 2010
Great show, much better than the rest of the Stargate franchise so I am reallly disappointed that this has ended after 5 seasons. I hope some movies are in the works as I would definitely buy them on DVD. It took a while to get going & fully round out alll the characters so it just seems illogical to end it now after alll the hard work was done.
EXPLOSIVE FINAL SEASON? Not a chance! - By: THMS, 18 Feb 2010
What were they thinking when they cancelled this show? It's final season was disappointing to say the least! The first episode was excellent followed by two predictably lame episodes, although the Ronon ep was better.

Two new aliens introduced only to be shot down in one episode each! There had been so much potential - the show was getting better & better only to be cancelled!?!

There were several episodes that were reallly good - Search & Rescue, The Daedalus Variations, The Shrine, The Queen, Tracker, First Contact & The Lost Tribe, The Prodigal, Remnants, & Enemy at the Gate - the final two which were supposed to be extended episodes but those extentions were only another 2 or 3 minutes! The final episode should've been movie length - it could've been. I guess the writers/producers couldn't be bothered.

Not worth £38. I bought the US version - a lot cheaper. Good to see Woolsey as lead & not Sam Carter (again).

So much potential... I loved it. I miss it.
Stargate Atlantis series 5 dvd - By: Ms. J. Capper, 22 Jan 2010
This dvd was not what it was supposed to be. What wasn't listed was the fact it wasn't enabled to be played in UK even though it was alll in English. I shalll not be purchasing from Amazon in futrure
Stargate comes home - By: Sandra Forrester, 04 Jan 2010
Stargate Atlantis was a spin off from Stargate SG1. It took them out of this universe to a galaxy far far away where they found Atlantis.
Anyone who has not watched Stargate Atlantis seasons 1-4 will not appreciate season 5, but it is doubtful if they would be tempted to buy it anyway.
Season 5 rounded off a number of the storylines which have been on the go for a while & managed to keep the impetus going with sufficient derring do & the odd touch of romance to make it both interesting & fun, the end was different from what I had imagined it might be & anyone who likes their galaxy travel to be remotely feasable will find fault, particularly with the ending, however I am happy with a bit of wibbly wobbley timey wimey so I enjoyed it.
It both concluded the ongoing storylines & left the door open for development should said open door be necessary.
It is good escapism for those who like sci-fi instead of soaps, the cast blended well producing consistantly good performances & while some storylines were a bit predictable by & large they were interesting. If you enjoyed seasons 1-4 then season 5 provides a good finallle.
