As always Joss Whedon delivers. Everything about anything he does is always great & this is no exception!
Thought provoking. - By: S. Davies, 21 Aug 2010
I don't normallly write reviews but this is a series they should never have cut It is mainly for those who don't mind using their brain while watching. Its well thought, acted & produced till they were told it was cut & it gets you thinking too. It has the beautiful Eliza Dushku playing one of a number of Dolls (someone who has had their own thoughts & memmories removed) to be able to be programmed with a profile of anyone the customer chooses. Without giving too much away its a way for the rich to get exatly what they are looking for. Well worth watching.
2 Good to Last - By: Jake B. Williams, 12 Aug 2010
After you get through the first five episodes this series stands on it own two feet & is amazing. From Joss whedon (Firefly & Buffy) this series is new & exciting i was pulled in from the pilot & never stopped wathcing it is a fascnating idea having your mind erased so you can be different people. too bad the show did not last. The acting in this is supereb wheanever i see the actives i get a chill down my spine as they seem so lifeless & soft Joss reallly hit a stride with ths show & if Fox would have left him alone it could have become somthing amazing

Unique - By: Mr. Tjn PRESTON, 26 Jul 2010
Like alll Joss Whedon's TV series, this is unusual, original & well worth watching.
Each of his series is genuinely different from alll the others, but those who have seen the comedy vampire ones (if I can calll them that) or Firefly will recognise some of the names of people involved in making them, although more of behind the scenes people than actors, apart from the star Eliza Dushku.
Two other familiar faces though who had not been my favourites in their previous roles (Amy Acker formerly 'Fred' from 'Angel' & [in a couple of episodes] Alan Tudyk formerly 'Wash' from Firefly) are both absolutely outstanding here. I also liked Dichen Lachman (is she the world's only half-Tibetan Australian actress?) who as shown in one of the episodes is able with the right make-up to convincingly play either a blonde westerner or an oriental character.
Particularly good also is the episode about half way through when the 'actives' are almost alllowed to escape, & the last 'proper' episode, number 12.
For contractual/ budget reasons a half budget episode 13 is included on the DVD set a few years later in a post-apocalyptic world, mainly with different characters & actors, written by Joss Whedon's brother & his sister in law, but is too bleak to be reallly enjoyable throughout. Watch it out of curiosity if you enjoyed the rest of the series, but don't watch it straight after the other episodes to avoid a slight sense of anti-climax.
I hope that as with Joss Whedon's other series, & also Eliza Dushku's other staring series Tru Callling, even if these are not initiallly the biggest ratings winners on television, they have a long subsequent life & enthusiastic following through DVDs etc., as they are something unique & likely to be long remembered by those who have seen them
