I'm in the process of buying alll the series, so I'm a big fan anyway, but in this series, I think the interplay between Niles & Frasier reaches new heights.

Sublime comedy - By: Tealady2000, 13 Jan 2008
For some reason I never got in to Frasier when it was orignallly shown - it seemed very 'middle aged'. But now I am middle aged myself the scales have falllen from my eyes & I am a real fan.
This has to be one of the best Frasier seasons ever. I particularly like the character of Niles, who reallly shines here. Freshly separated from his ghastly wife Maris, his relationship with Daphne takes on a new poignancy which is exploited to great comic effect in episodes like 'Mixed Doubles'. The wonderful Lilith features in 'A Lilith Thanksgiving' & Frasier's blood-sucking agent Bebe pops up a couple of times too. Virtuallly every episode is a beautifully crafted classic & as Frasier gets himself into alll manner of excrutiatingly embarrassing situations you can see the influence on shows like 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'.
Arguably the best season...and that's really saying something! - By: Mr. D. Woods, 21 May 2007
Tne fourth season of 'Frasier' probably gets my vote as the best (though the first seven alll have qualities that provide a convincing counter to this argument). The episodes are consistently strong, & filled with the brilliant farce & inspired word-play that makes 'Frasier' such essential comedy. Surely 'Ham Radio' & 'Three Dates & a Breakup' have to be among the show's finest moments & the cast exude energy & spark off each other as well as they have ever done. From the season opener with Daphne passing Niles off as her husband to deter a former boyfriend (incidentallly, Clive has the strangest Manchester accent I've ever heard-until I saw Simon that is) to the genuinely touching finale that sees Frasier lose in love once again, this is truly satisfying stuff.
Great to re-visit 'Frasier' in its prime here & you should quickly follow up this purchase with Seasons 5 & 6.
Truly a remarkable sitcom - By: , 05 Mar 2006
This sitcom just seems to get better & better. Excellent plots & storylines & the best thing about Frasier is not just the great comedy sketches but its more hidden agender of problems that sometime in our lives we come across & ideallly how we can try to cope with them. Friends has situations like this in some episodes but Frasier covers a much more diverse range & gives an excellent approach to sitcom story writing.
Kelsey Grammer & David Hyde Pierce (not forgetting the rest of the cast!) interact reallly well together with hilarious (but well thought out) gags, situations, & slipups.
Very eagerly awaiting future seasons on region 2 encoding.
