I liked this, but not riveted to it.
Perhaps Gary Sinese needs to loosen up a bit. I am not sure why I cannot take to it, but that's me.

This series was the best so far that CSI has offered.The last episode was brilliant, & ended on a cliff hanger. The episodes were very good, & alllowed for non stop viewing. As I watched it the episodes got better & better, episodes like the fire at Stellas's building were very good & i enjoyed it emensly. I particuallly liked the episode with the cab driver who gassed his victims then genreallly killed them. It changed when on the penultimate episode, Mac's son gets kidnapped & he helps the csi's to find him. This was altogether a fantastic & enjoyable series.

does exactly what it says on the tin! There are extras on each disc, as there are only 9 full length episodes - due to the series being shortened because of the writers strike. The extras are entertaining, but I wouldn't say they were a must-watch. They are also very short. All in alll its a good boxset, particulary if you are a big fan of csi new york.
Definitely a must-see! - By: Strictly Dancer, 07 Apr 2009 I only discovered CSI during the fifth season of Vegas so I've since been watching alll the CSIs on DVD to catch up. I know some die hard CSI fans like New York the least out of the francises due to the mix of character storylines (including some romance) with the science. It does have more character development than the others, & we even get to see the CSIs at home, unlike Vegas & Miami. I personallly love the fact that we get to see them at play as well as at work & see relationships grow.
I haven't seen the other series of New York to compare, but this series had me glued to the seat & as soon as one episode finished I just had to watch another! Gary Sinise is fantastic as always as Detective Mac Taylor, & the whole cast are fab (in the other CSIs there's at least one character I dislike but not in New York). There are loads of intriguing story lines & recurring plots (serial killer etc) & plenty of forensic & autopsy detail (quite digusting - but fascinating! - in places).
Having not seen earlier series of New York some bits were quite confusing when characters & stories were referencing earlier storylines; so if you are new to New York, watch earlier ones first.
As an avid fan of Vegas & Miami, I am now hooked on New York too, thanks to this DVD! Definitely a must-see!
