Taking all into account, an excellent film - By: M. W. Nash, 19 Aug 2008
Last night I got to watch this movie at my company where it was screened in aid of charity & also had the priviledge of meeting & chatting to the writer/director as well as Danny joining us for the screening. After hearing how little both he & the rest of the crew had to work with & what they went through in order to produce this film, I have to say I have the utmost respect for them. He had a script he believed in, he believed in himself & went ahead & made a movie that is entertaining for both men & women. The fight scenes are believable too. A low budget flick worth watching!!! And one last thing, Malcolm is such a genuine guy & very helpful in answering my questions about writing the film. Was great to meet you!
Clunking - By: Mr. P. D. Steer, 06 Aug 2008
There are bits of this film that are good but there's so much of it that just clunks so badly. Large sections of it are so wooden you could make palllets out of it. Danny John Jules is good but he's having to work so hard because the Fighter is pure Chipboard ( He's so poor I cannot even be bothered to check his name - probably for the best). He tries to play the strong silent type but he has no charisma at alll. Has he acted before because he's way out of his depth in this? The Director thinks he's doing a Lock Stock job but he continues the crate-like dominance of this film. There's no zip about his direction. Yes the fight scenes do help it but the script is infantile in its content - dreamy shots of lone boxer staring at the river reflecting on something in his past. Just lazy & cliched. It nearly caught a whiff of 'Minder' on occasions but soon lost it. At the end I just couldn't see the point why someone had put up the money for this to be made.
Excellent Must See Movie - By: Mark Hamlin, 29 May 2008
Having been fortunate enough to see this movie prior to release i can honestly say it is well worth watching. There are some great action scenes with a credible, gritty & realistic story line. The comedy elements in the film widen its appeal to both sexes so i am sure my girlfriend will enjoy this film as much as i did.
