Taken to the next level!- By: Mr. N. Boyd-vaughan, 27 Aug 2008 This is my favourite Die Zauberflöte & I appreciate it greater, the more I watch it. I don't feel that at the moment it is necessary to give a review of the actual production as this has been well discussed for the original DVD release, see below;

However I made the decision to upgrade to Blu-ray last month & I cannot wholly express how wonderful this production is to watch in the crisp picture & sound quality that this new format offers!
Although today, the number of operas available on Blu-ray may not warrant upgrading one's home cinema setup yet, the victory in the format war with HD-DVD & the work of opusarte to expand their range are making this investment increasingly worthwhile!
