Complete let down - By: S. J. Koral, 14 May 2008
Its pains me to write a negative review. I reallly wanted this to be good, being a huge fan of the TV series that I am.

The first 10 minutes or so started off alright & from there it lost its way. It lacks the wit & the fast flying jokes of the TV series.
The 90 minute format doesnt reallly work & the whole thing becomes too obsessed in the plot, which is unfortunate becuase the story itself isnt too bad, it just could have been presented a lot better.

Dont be fooled by alll these positive reviews, there are alot of die-hard futurama fans that are just glad to have it back from its hiatus which lasted years, they'd give anything 5 stars. If youve seen it & gave it 5 stars, can you honestly say its equal to a classic episode from the tv series like "insane in the mainframe"?

A Great Movie With One Major Gripe - By: D. W. Bissett, 14 May 2008
In 2003, Twentieth Century Fox made one of the biggest mistakes in television history - they cancelled FUTURAMA, Matt Groening's brilliant follow-up to THE SIMPSONS (1989-????). But thanks to strong DVD sales & TV repeats, the show is back with four DVD movies.

BENDER'S BIG SCORE (2007) is worth the four-year wait. However, it's not perfect due to it's major gripe. And that is the relationship between Fry & Leela. At the end of the Season Four finale - "The Devil's Hands Are The Idle Playthings" - it seemed that Fry & Leela have got together. But in this film, which is set two years after the stories in Season Four, the relationship has gone back to square one. A very good question for Groening, the series co-developer, David X. Cohen, the writer of this DVD film, Ken Keeler, to answer about this.

Apart from gripe, everything about BENDER'S BIG SCORE rocks. Bender steals the show as always (He's up there with Homer Simpson!), the two songs are hilarous, the animation remains intact despite the four-year gap & it doesn't feel like four episodes edited together (It's even better than THE SIMPSONS MOVIE [2007] apprently!).

It's great to have FUTURAMA back & I am looking forward to the next three DVD movies. The next one coming out is THE BEAST WITH A BILLION BACKS (due out late-June 2008).

It's Back Baby! 85mins of genius - By: D. Page, 13 May 2008
It's Back Baby! Futurama! After seventy-two episodes nothing was said about any more coming & then after four long years of emptiness & boredom, they are back! YES!

Benders Big Score is the first of four feature length Futurama movies & i think this was a great start for the shows come-back. Some of it is a bit OTT but isn't that what alll Futurama is like? Benders Big Score is about evil nudist aliens that take over the world & soon find out that a great secret lies hidden. Where? In Fry's ass! Will Leela finallly find true love & has Bender gotten more evil? Find out when you buy it!

It's well worth the money & is packed with extras including a commentry, a commic book being read by the cast of Futurama, deleated story board scenes, new designs & sketches & much more... Did i mention a whole half hour of Hypnotoad? Because there is a full episode of the great toad, alll glory to the hypnotoad!

Any fan of Futurama MUST BUY THIS!

Futurama returns - By: T. R. Alexander, 07 May 2008
This is the first of four feature length episodes of the brilliant Futurama series from the makers of the Simpsons. Futurama was always one of my favourite animated series & although it is good to see it back in any form it is slightly disappointing that they have not done a full series of this great show.

This feature length episode sees Planet Express taken over by alien con-artists who discover fry holds the secrets of time travel. They send Bender on a rampage through time in order to steel priceless treasures of history. Although this plot is somewhat predictable it is nonetheless great fun, with twists aplenty & many of the minor characters from the series making cameos.

Futurama has always had good animation & if anything Bender's Big Score is slightly better than has previously been seen on the show. The entire cast reprise there roles & give good performances & the episode also features guest appearances by Al Gore. Overalll this is probably not Futurama at its best but it is still brilliantly funny & a great way of spending an hour & half.
Looked Forward To But Left Disappointed - By: R. Gowshall, 05 May 2008
As a huge Futurama fan I was very excited to see this title. However, despite reallly willing this movie to improve throughout the duration, it did not. To be brutallly honest it was pretty poor. The plot line does not usuallly worry me too much as so long as it contains the usual comic one liners, that & the characters are usuallly more than enough to keep me happy. Parts of the plot were completely random & the laughs too infrequent to carry this movie off, a great shame. I remain a great fan of Futurama but I cannot recommend this movie.
