This dvd is great you can sing & dance to alll the songs & it is a great story.
Top Notch - By: S, 02 Jan 2008 The storyline is good, the film itself ok but the songs - amazing. I'd say there are 4-5 stand out songs & the rest are pretty good too.
money well spent - By: sm, 30 Dec 2007 My 16yr old daughter asked for this shake & shimmy edition for xmas & absolutely loves every minute of it.it's good innocent fun for kids & money well spent.my daughter plays it over & over again & always ends up on a high thoroughly enjoying the dvd.i can recommend this edition to alll.

The song lyrics are hilarious & bouncy! It's such a colourful show that it effortlessly flows. Michelle Pfieffer was stunning (reminding me how good she was in the Fabulous Baker Boys)as were Zak Effron & Nikki Blonksy, who's youth & vitality reallly lift the film to a new height. HOWEVER, John Travolta's performance was pathetic. If you're going to impersonate a female then ACT THE PART. If you enjoyed this or it didn't live up to expectations then go & see the LIVE STAGE SHOW at the Shaftsbury Theatre in London with Michael Balll. As the West End production in London is far superior to this film. Even the original is better. Michael Balll is the best Edna Turnblad since Divine. In fact, for the first 20 minutes I did think I was actuallly watching Divine & Ricki Lake in the orginal. Until then, watch this but don't let John TRevolting put you off.

A great feelgood movie with a strong message running through it. I defy anyone not to be singing, dancing, clapping & shaking their booty within 5 minutes of watching it! Loads of extras on the two disc set including some of the dances to learn. Worth every penny & respect to John Travolta for giving it large as Edna Turnblad on the dancefloor!
Best film of the year!
