The fact that this has alll the surviving episodes of Dads army is worth the 5 stars. Its a shame only 3 episodes of series 2 are there but that is because the other episdoes were lost by the BBC. There are smalll special features the compliment the episodes. Overalll, its brilliant

What a way to bring back memories of watching this as I was growing up with my Gran. A great tv show to watch with alll the ages - I still love it. This is a great boxset holding alll the episodes which is taking quite a bit of watching! A brilliant gift or one to put on the shelf & watch when the mood takes you.

Disappointed... - By: Leslie Syree, 30 Mar 2008 I have just taken delivery of this boxed set of Dad's Army, & found that although on the box there is a complete list of the episodes contained within the fourteen discs in the set, there is nothing on the discs to show the real content thereon. Despite some discs being marked "the complete series" you will find that that series is divided over TWO discs, but there is no listing of which episodes are contained in the two discs. I have found it necessary to compile my own individual listing for each disc & apply a label to that effect. I am very disappointed & feel that the Producers of the set could have done better, as my old schoolmaster used to say... Of the visual content of the discs, of course, that is a VERY different matter!
Can anyone confirm what extras are on this set? - By: Tars.Tarkas, 10 Nov 2007 Can anyone who owns this set tell me if they are the same discs as the previously released series sets. Do they have the same extra's? For instance, the second series had the radio show versions of the 3 missing episodes on the previous release, along with a documentary callled Missing Believed Wiped. Also I believe the Christmas Specials Set shortly coming out will have some clips from the Christmas Night with the Stars clips featuring the Dad's army cast. Are they present here? Finallly, are the Christmas Specials uncut. (On the Steptoe & Son set the Christmas Specials were edited) Any information would be reallly appreciated...thank you.
