WOOOOOOOOOOOOW! - By: Mr. Shaleen Sharma, 16 Mar 2010
I first saw Planet Earth on dvd & decided to buy it in blu-ray the day I bought an HD tv. I may sound crazy, but I actuallly bought the PS3 AFTER receiving the Planet Earth blu-ray set. For me, it was alll about showing my family the fantastic picture of earth that this documentary series shows. Of what's out there, & a 1000 reasons why you should explore it!
And of course, to show what you mean by 1080 HD
Amazon's service was fantastic with the package arriving before the date specified, however, there was some damage to the casing.
Planet Earth - superb! - By: Mr. A. G. Banton, 13 Mar 2010
This is a series that you can see again & again. It's interesting, as well as brilliantly filmed & produced. What more could you want from a DVD?
Simply the best - By: D. Harrison, 12 Mar 2010
This is what we Brits pay out TV license for & what is best about the BBC. A simply stunning wildlife series, impeccably photographed & backed by the ultimate in narration from the incomparable David Attenborough.
I had only ever seen excerpts of the series when originallly broadcast on the TV & so was not prepared for how good this was going to be. And seeing it in high definition on my new Blu-ray system made me appreciate why so many people have described this as being a benchmark series for the Blu-ray medium. The quality is such that I reallly felt as if I was in there with the animals, particularly in the jungle & underwater sequences.
If you haven't already bought this do so now - you won't regret it.

BLU-RAY REVIEW - By: D. Harvey, 09 Mar 2010
I know there has been a lot of debate on here surrounding whether the image is 1080i or 1080P so i won't add to that. All i will say is i watched this on my HD projector with ~100" screen & i was reallly dissapointed by the picture quality. Lots of the shots of animals obviously filmed from a long distance using a huge zoom were ever so slightly out of focus so on the big screen looked poor.

In general the picture quality was a let down, worse than 'Life' which i projected from my sky HD which is 720P. To be honest i'm contemplating selling the blu-ray & just picking up the DVD set cheap for now until a better version comes out in the future.
