Cold Blood - Series 1 - absolutely sent chills up & down my spine. Matthew Kelly as the serial killer positively gave me the creeps. You never knew what trick he would pull next. Jemma Redgrave as the detective who stood up to the cunning & cold-blooded serial killer was brave & intelligent, yet still soft & feminine. John Hannah as the ex-con trying to make it in the outside world, made me believe he was a good & sweet person inside, despite his past. He gave Jemma Redgrave such excellent feedback to help her in the investigations. Jemma Redgrave & John Hannah in particular reallly made you care about the character's lives. Everyone in the entire production did an excellent job!
The "Behind the Scene" featurette was very informative & lots of fun to watch! Very well done!
The story was excellent. I couldn't take my eyes off the television screen during the entire series! I even let out a few "screams" & "no-no-no's". This is one of the best things I have ever seen on television, & I would so love to see the stories continue. I feel there are still secrets to be revealed about the story & the characters' lives. And of course, for John Hannah & Jemma Redgrave to get together permanently.
Oh, how thrilling to watch! What a wonderful series! Bravo "Cold Blood Series" cast!!
ITV drama at it's chilling best - By: Mr. D. New, 19 Jan 2008 The complete series of Cold Blood finallly arrives on dvd. It was delayed because ITV made a final episode which wrapped up the series nicely. Serial killer Brian Wicklow (played by Matthew Kelly) is locked away in prisoner & plays a cat & mouse game with detective Eve (played by Jemma Redgrave) & ex con Jake (played by John Hannah). I won't go into plot details & ruin it for you but there a several "Silence Of The Lambs" moments. Needless to say there are twists & turns aplenty.
This 2 disk set cotains alll 5 stories over two disks. The stories are Cold Blood, Cold Blood 2, Inteference, Dead And Buried & The Last Hurrah. Each story is excellent with only Dead And Buries being slightly weaker than the others. The supporting cast are excellent & include David Calder & Pauline Quirk. For me though, the scene stealer is Matthew Kelly who gives a chilling performance as the serial killer Brian Wicklow.
The picture quality is abit grainy on the first story but does improve. The sound quality is pritty good & the dvd is presented in 16.9 widescreen. The extras are abit limited - alll you get is a Behind The Scenes featurette.
All in alll this is a superb dvd package & well deserves the five stars I have awarded it.
