A bit of harmless fun - By: Colours and Cats, 23 Apr 2008
I remember the 80's so I must be old!! Anyway I didn't expect to enjoy this film but I did. OK, so the story isn't anything new & there aren't any great lessons to be learned from it but it is fun & Pop Goes My Heart is reallly catchy. Watch this with your friends, daughters etc have some popcorn & curl up on the sofa.
Great but not stupid at all comedy - By: Alice Mlynkova, 22 Apr 2008
Can watch again & again & still enjoy, Hugh Grant's hips' movement is unforgettable... good songs too.. like it very much
to be honest... i liked it! - By: Ms. F. I. Macdonald, 15 Apr 2008
there's something about hugh grant that makes me hate to love him. He always seems to play the same parts but thats ok, i thought this was a sweet film, & drew barrymore plays the character of Sophie with gentle ease & confidence. Hugh Grant's 80's has-been persona is a comic & aged look at what happens after your time as a star. Very good & some nice tunes to throw in. Worth a look.
Stars going through the motions - By: Dmitri M. A. Hubbard, 15 Apr 2008
Two reasonably well respected (if middle of the road & typecast) actors with a fairly bland script that is reallly going nowhere. You can see any plot development a mile off, & the only time you might want to consider this one is if you are on a first date. At least it will not harm your date & might put you in the mood.
Oh dear... - By: montana, 28 Mar 2008
Wet is one way to sum up this film. That & predictable & boring. I don't usuallly mind chick flick type films - you're usuallly guaranteed something average...a Sunday afternoon type film. This is pretty bad - I wouldn't bother if I were you. If you want something of this genre you can do a lot better than to watch this...
