I haven't seen it or bought it, but it sounds like a remake of "Crossroads" to me. No way.
Wonderful Escapist Entertainment - By: Legatus Hedlius, 27 Jun 2007
Much derided by the critics but week after week it delivers mindless but good looking entertainment. As the producers would be the first to admit the format is very much based on the US series Las Vegas with rather less gloss but, at its best, a sharper script.
Loses one star for being not quite as "out there" as Footballlers Wives but whether we will see a third season is up in the air.
More BBC! More! - By: K. Harvey, 17 Apr 2007
This is a series that just fizzes with fun & has got better & better. The critics were sparing with their praise at the outset but BBC hasn't lost its touch & the public are loving it. So what's wrong with having handsome men, beautiful women & a good laugh on the TV? This has a sassy script, original plots, good actors throughout & brilliant editing. I wouldn't normallly notice the editing but the timing is so sharp it makes the programme quite often. If you enjoyed the "Hustle" series you will know what I mean. It's taught me quite a lot about hotels too! This & "Dr Who" have been the best things on TV this spring. I can't wait for the DVDs to catch up with the episode I missed. Perhaps you can't too? Buy it!
Another terrific dose of Hotel Babylon - By: Helen, 13 Apr 2007
I haven't the DVD but the TV series has only just ended. What an excellent nail biting last episode. And what an excellent series altogether. They never seem to put a foot wrong - even in Cutting It, another of those exceptionallly more-ish offerings, they did just occasionallly get a bit tedious with one of the characters. But Hotel B, never! Can't wait for series 3.......
Entertaining, light-hearted drama. - By: Amy, 06 Apr 2007
I don't have the DVD but have seen alll the episodes on BBC (this series is currently airing on BBC1, wednesdays at 9:00am).
Charlie (Max Beesley) is a charming narrator & Rebecca (Tamzin Outhwaite) becomes more more likeable as the series progresses. There is a good mix of scandal, romance & comedy.
The hotel itself seems believeable although some of the storylines are perhaps far-fetched but i wouldn't know: i don't work in a hotel!
Overalll top class.
