Ok. So So... - By: Mr. R. J. Paul, 21 Mar 2008
I was rather dissapointed with this offering. The episodes lacked depth & mood, & some of my favorite episodes are on the other series, such as 'Worlds Apart' & 'Inconsistant Moon'. There's less of the other-worlds of the original series, with mainly just Mars if any off-planet at alll, contrast that with the original series, being more adventurous & going anywhere they like in the universe to stage the shows. I don't think I'd bother with the other new series if they come out, but see what's on the second series of the original. As like the original, a 'Best of the Outer Limits' is what's needed in my opinion, although they won't make so much money on that, it would be value. The episodes are watchable though, but the original series left it's mark on my conciousness, & this new effort dosn't inspire the wonder of SF like the old one did.
Great Sci-Fi anthology - By: T. R. Alexander, 26 Jul 2007
This is the first series of the great sci-fi anthology show the Outer Limits & was probably one of the first exposures to the genre as an adult that I can remember. The episodes in this season are alll well written & although the graphics are nothing compared to modern CGI it was state of the art at the time & enjoyable never-the-less. Although some of the acting is a bit suspect in places there are some very good performances & it is especiallly fun to look out for actors who went on to play well know characters in latter programs. My personal favourite highlights of the season are the episodes Dark Matters, about a spaceship stuck in a weird region of space, & Quality of Mercy about POWs in an alien prison camp. Although some of the tales are a little moralistic for my liking alll the episodes are entertaining & I can only hope they hurry up & release the remaining seasons of this great show.
Series 1...Is that it? - By: Mr. L. N. Taylor, 10 Jul 2007
I agree with the earlier review where the reviewer retracted his comments having been told TC Fox had no plans to release the remaining 6 seasons. Whats the point then? When I spoke to them they were very non-commital indeed, which doesn't exactly bode well. The US had releases of Season 1, a best of Season 1 & 2, & Seasons 3 & 4. Then again the US also had releases of Time Tunnel & the forthcoming Land of the Giants. No sign of those here either. Another case of UK customers getting shafted yet again. This Season was OK, certainly better than Season 2, but the show reallly hit it's stride with Seasons 3,4 & 5. I'm going to wait & see if MGM release a boxset of alll 7 Seasons on Region 1.

About time!! - By: Green Spirit, 27 Mar 2007
At last!! More than ten years has passed since I became enthrallled in a weekly dose of the outer limits & finallly some bright spark has decided to get it out on DVD. There are some classic episodes in this first series & almost every episode that has been made has included a famous TV/Film star which adds credibility to some very well written sci-fi & thought provoking episodes. My only worry is that this series saw a release in the states quite some time ago & I haven't read or seen anything that has indicated the second series is coming out... When you see some of the garbage that is taking up valuable shelf space in the local entertainment shops, you'd hope that the follow up series to the Outer limits also comes out for those that have been fortunate enough to see & appreciate some classic cult TV.
