Best comedy show - By: Erik Engberg, 24 Dec 2009
The best comedy show ever comes to a conclusion (at least until the movie is out) on this box set. As usual it is hilarious.
One of the best comedies I've eve seen - By: J. Zekonyte, 15 Oct 2009
All three seasons of Arrested Development are reallly great. It is one of the best comedies I've ever seen. It is just a pity that they had to finish the show & the 3rd season is somewhat shoter that previous two.
I've heard the director intended to make a movie. Looking forward to it, if it is true.
Think Phantom Menace - By: Disappointed, 30 Sep 2009
Series 1 & (particularly) 2 were works of genius. This is a horrible mess - a Phantom Menace scale betrayal of a wonderful heritage.
Shouldn't have arrested its development! - By: WHITLAM, 05 Aug 2009
This is as good as Fawlty Towers. For verbal slapstick, sheer interpersonal comic cruelty, double entendres & pace, it doesn't get any better. I just wish we could have had six more series to bank on, but I suppose the stars of this show are just so prolific & in demand elsewhere, because they are SO GOOD!!
Witness Charlize Theron RUINING tv - By: Dead Ted Danson, 27 Jul 2009
I adore Arrested Development- seasons 2 & 3 arrived on Friday & I watched both today. The cast was the best ever assembled for comedy, the gag rate mile-high & everything else, from the presentation to the narration to the shameless self preservation ("Please, tell your friends about this show"), every mark hits the spot. Every mark, I should say, but one. Charlize Theron & the English child-mind girlfriend episodes.
From the introduction of Theron (who would later star with Teen Wolf Too in Hancock- skip that too) things slow to a screeching halt- she lives in "Wee Britain" with some old guy- both are English, the old guy managing the stereotypical accent with considerable ease while Oscar winner Charlize can barely manage to do anything but infuriate. There seems to be a loose parodying of Bond movies that is as quickly forgotten as it is introduced. Once it is established that Rita (that's her name ya see) is in fact mentallly retarded things just become worse. I've even lost the will to write about it anymore. It should just be skipped altogether. The show's only mistake, in a series otherwise filled with awesomeness.
Gob's puppet is back in black (literallly), George Michael resumes his infatuation with his infuriating cousin Maebe & there's name-related fun to be had with Judge Judge Reinhold & Scott Baio's Bob Loblaw. Just say that out loud, like right now.
Buy alll three seasons of this classic, pray & hope that the film returns these great characters to us & make sure you skip episodes 2-6 of season 3. Or at least don't watch them first, lest you be mistaken into thinking it's worse than it reallly is.
