Some Truths, but too fictional for reality! - By: M. Nebiyou, 22 Jul 2008
I first watched the dvd, which contains the same contents of the book about 6months ago, just watched it again, & this is my review, Starting with the good.
The Secret contains some truths & good Tips on Attracting what a person wants. Quotes like 'Creation happens from toughts, thoughts manifest into actions' is very true as every amazing & successful things we have with us today like the aeroplane, computer, architecture alll manifested from someone's thought,
'Feelings are feedback mechanism of whether we are on track' also very true but simple as if u feel sick or feel sick, feel high/drunk i guess thats your body giving you feedback right,
'simple shifting of emotions can change your day' true, 'be gratefull for what you have, & you attract more of what you want' also very true,
'whatever the mind of man can achieve, it can concieve', 'Believe you can have it, Believe you deserve it, believe you will get it' very true as if you dont feel+believe you deserve happiness, health, wealth, you won't get it,
'Look for positives for the people in your life' very true for family/relationship issues, but it depends on peoples past & present actions &
'inner happiness is the fuel of success' as inner happiness helps combat the feeling of hate & rejection that someone may through at you in your life. All this are quotes that I believe in & can impower life.

however, The secret states that law of attraction attracts like for like, & they claim that
'if you want to get out of debt, dont think of debt' is not something I recommend as those who hide or deny the truth can find themselves deeper in it.
Also 'when you look at what is, you are attracting what is, & you recieve what is' can be decieving as those who have been looking at beautiful things are asking themselves why they haven't got it,
'when you see something you want, you are attracting law of attraction & it results in LOA delievering on that' very similar to previous &
'The creative process Ask, Answer, Recieve, can work but can be catastrophic for those it doesn't work for.

Some inspiring stories including the man who crashes his aeroplane, 'Morris E Goodman' who defied alll odds after plane crash. I credit this too the will & believe this man had.
The cancer women is also inspiring, but also happiness & belief eased pressure of her body & helped her defeat her dis-ease right.
The next two stories & the messages directed to the viewer about 'the gratitude rock' & 'the gay man' I find a bit worrying.
The gratitude rock story is about a man who see's his friend carry a gratitude rock. the message sent is saying when the mans child got sick, he asked his friend to send him a gratitude rock & his son got better. I would be carefull & say it was probably the doctors work that got this child better.
Also the story of the gay man, who was getting bullied, harrased anf finding no happiness in his life. suddenly he started to use LOA to attract wat he wants & the people in his work left him alone or left the company, people harrasing him weren't there no more & so on. I would say that it is good this man found happiness in his life, but we don't have power, especiallly of others actions & if some one is suffereing similar problems, i would recommend self confidence to combat hatred, but just focusing on what you want doesn't just make peoples problem go away.
Finallly I am going to tell you about the ones I find disturbing. First is the one from Dr Joe Vitale who says everything that happens, we attract. I sincerley hope he is talking about the well off, becuuse if he isn't, he is saying the poor attracted poor to themselves, the ones living with poverty attracted poverty to themselves, the ones with dis-ease(even those born with one), attracted it to themselves, the ones living in warfare attracted it to themselves & so on.
The attack on the Anti-war movement is also worrying. they say if you are anti-way, anti-terrorism, ant-poverty & so on, you attract more of it. I disagree highly with this, & i am a firm believer that if it wasn't for the american civil war for abolitionism, or the war against hitler, or even the anti-war, anti-medicine movements & actions, we would be living in a different world. Also without organisations monitoring everything that occurs, from police brutality, torture & so on, we would be more in dark about the secretive world we live in, than we already are.

Well essentiallly, being a firm believer of success breeds success, & also LOA, i like some of the secret. but it has to be taken with a real perspective. this book, cd, dvd isn't going to change alll of us, but using what works for us, we can use parts of it to change our lives.
However, i predict we still face problems we faced yesterday, & will face similar problems tommorrow & the secret isn't going to change society & everybody as a whole.
If you're eighty years old, but you look eighteen.... - By: Ronda S., 10 Jun 2008
and you did it by belief & thought alone, then hooray, we can alll believe in The Secret!
It states in the product overview that: "This is The Secret to everything - the secret to unlimited joy, health, money, relationships, love, youth: everything you have ever wanted." !!! Well...
All I'm asking is, why are the believers of The Secret so silent when it comes to questions like why can't old people make themselves young again by the power of thought? Most people in the world want to reverse aging, yet where are the eighty year old believers in The Secret who look eighteen instead of eighty?
I've seen the argument that it can't be done because it's not _meant_ to be done. But The Secret states that one can achieve _anything_ that one wants! And most people want to reverse aging, but most people do not achieve it! Even Byrne herself is supposed to be attempting it, but sadly hasn't succeeded.
Where are the bald men who have completely regrown alll their hair by thinking & believing they could?
Where are the sixty year old women who have totallly reversed the menopause and, or, got pregnant afterwards by _natural_ means?
Where are the old grannies with the hot young boyfriends?
I've seen people who have no belief in The Secret or anything like it & are very negative people with bad attitudes & full of resentment & hate & therefore according to The Secret should attract alll manner of bad things into their lives, & yet they don't. And I've seen kind, good natured people with positive happy attitudes, attract bad circumstances.
Has anyone become a millionaire solely by believing one would? - You might say that can't happen without doing something to get it; but The Secret says you can have _anything_ you want. Anything means anything, it means someone who wants to buy a lottery ticket & win a few million that week, BEING ABLE TO. It means someone who wants to get together with the person they have worshipped from afar for a long time, BEING ABLE TO, even if they are a seventy eight year old granny & the object of their affections is some cute little seventeen year old boy from across the way! Don't say it can't be done. The Secret says you can have ANYTHING YOU WANT!
To get back to the one thing that most people spend a lot of time focusing on, the desire to look forever young. If The Secret were true, then most of those people would look young because they give so much thought to it, because you "attract what you think about", yet most people do not achieve this. They may look considerably younger than they are, (I've seen people looking 30 years younger than their age, but none of them believe in The Secret, they've inherited the tendency to look young for much longer than most) but even famous people who are lauded for looking younger than their years, none of them in their seventies or eighties look about twenty years old, & yet they would if they could, hence some of the hideous caricatures we see of people who have had facelifts so many times that they look grotesque. So you honestly believe that some of those people would not be able to make themselves look young again if they could? I'm sure most of them must have heard of The Secret, & it states one can have ANYTHING one wants, & yet the one thing that _most_ people want, remains evasive!
Even certain famous celebrities who are praised for looking very young, have flabby underarms & old looking hands. (Madonna anyone?) So, the reversal of aging on the body & physical appearance stays elusive, even for people well in the know, with fitness gurus at their disposal & following the spiritual techniques that supposedly reverse aging, so if they cannot achieve it, is anyone who believes in The Secret going to? Even Byrne herself has not been able to. Which says it alll reallly!
It's no use anyone saying that reversing aging would be against natural laws, or that for some granny to want some cute boy, would not be right & proper, or that one musn't want this or musn't want that, for reasons of this is wrong or that is wrong, One fact remains, & this is that The Secret is _marketed_ on the basis that you can have ANYTHING you want, you only have to read it & believe. But, this is quite obviously just NOT TRUE! The author of The Secret is a woman in her fifties who looks like a woman in her fifties. Yet it has been stated that after 'curing' her defective eyesight in three days by the power of her mind, she had then turned her attention to using her mind to reverse aging in herself. Sadly, she has not succeeded in doing so!!
I don't know how it can be justified, the amount of money being made by selling impossible dreams to people, it is bordering on cruelty with its misleading & ultimately untrue promises.
It would be very nice if The Secret reallly were true, but it just isn't.

~ Coming back a month later to this, the main thing I want to add is this:
Main thing: All the belief in the world doesn't stop the aging process. Yet Rhonda Byrne states that you can have "anything" you want. Yet to stop aging _is_ what many people want. (Including Byrne herself!) So The Secret is a lie in the respect of how she writes about it, (personal genii granting wishes, etc). If anyone disagrees, then state _why_ you disagree, & I will gladly listen. But bear in mind we are discussing 'The Secret' as described by Rhonda Byrne, & not someone else's interpretation of the Law of Attraction, which may be different.

The power of positive thinking - By: bumblesquat, 19 May 2008
It took me a while to put this DVD on. It was recommended to me but I had a feeling it was going to be overdramtic money making twaddle. It is that but without too much twaddle. It has a very important message of positive thinking & I like to believe there is something in it. I think that Rhonda Byrne is very clever, she's packaged something for everyone as this is not specific to any religion or belief system.
I am not a religious person but I have always liked to believe there's something out there & I've always believed in a certain amount of Karma (what goes around comes around etc) & to me this DVD has given me a kick up the bum to wake up in the morning & be thankful for what I've got & wish for exactly what I want in the future.
Exactly the same dialog as the book - By: Miss Doodle, 08 May 2008
If you've bought the book... the DVD brings nothing new. It has exactly the same material as the book. Even the script is exactly the same. I bought the book thinking that the film would give me additional information but I was disappointed.

In a nutshell.... if you read the book 1st, alll this DVD will bring are moving pictures & a smalll scene by Bob Proctor at the end.
