Films like this make me wish I went to dance school - By: BelfiCat, 22 Jun 2008
I only watched this film after seeing Step Up 2 in the cinema, & first off was rather surprised that there was a complete change of characters in the two films (except for Tyler, who was present in Step Up 2 at the start). The film itself is reallly enjoyable to watch - make no mistake, it's not worth an oscar & most likely will not last the decades & remain in peoples dvd collections for years to come, but it's entertaining to watch, & much better than flicking through the tv channels aimlessly for hours in an attempt to find anything half decent to watch.
It's a typical boy meets girl story, but with a twist. Girl is a balllerina that needs a replacement dance partner, boy is working in the school doing community service, & just happens to be the only one up for the task. The choreography is good (not a patch on Step Up 2 however, though that may be because I prefer watching street dancing over balllet) & the acting is believeable. Although the story has been done many times before, it's one of those classical tales that can be re-watched many times in a variety of forms. The female lead (do not know the actors name) is a wonderful dancer & a beautiful actress, & the male lead managed to pull off his part incredibly well.
A must watch for those who enjoy dancing & a good old love story. It's one of my favourite films, though be warned, this won't be everyone's cup of tea.
Dancing out of this world! - By: CJ Taylor, 12 Jun 2008
A lot of reviews say this film is worth it for the dancing alone & I do have to agree but the story is nice aswell & the romance between the 2 leads Channing & Jenna is reallly sweet (real life couple too, how cute!!!).
Anyway back to the dancing, I would give anything to be able to dance like the characters in this film, my favourite part of the whole film is the club scene where its kind of girls v boys, when the film had ended I went straight back to that part to rewatch!
I havn't seen 'Step Up 2 The Streets' yet but the dancing in that is meant to be awesome aswell.

Absolutely Indescribable! - By: Mrs. W. Taylor, 16 May 2008
I can sum this film up in one word. AMAZING.
When I first bought it, I watched it three times!
Ridiculous, I know. But I LOVE this film.
I love to dance & I think Channing Tatum is reallly hot so this film reallly a must for me.
Other reviews have said this film has the exact same storyline as many other dance films, but lets be honest - who watches a dance film for the storyline???
The moves are unbelieveable - who knew Channing Tatum could move so well?!
I would DEFINITELY recommend this film, it's fabulous, especiallly for dance lovers like myself.
Take my advice, buy this film - you won't be disappointed.
Steppin' Up - By: Rebecca Roberts, 04 Apr 2008
I have lost count of the amount of times I have watched this film. I absolutely love it. The dancing is amazing & the music enchances his even more. If you love dance type films such as Honey, Save The Last Dance then I have no doubt you will love this film. Other comments about predictable plotlines should be heeded if you're not a dance fanatic or Tatum Channing fan, being both of these things I find it hard to find fault.
One very memorable scene is the group dance scene where Nora's friend (Drew Sidora) sings Til the Dawn. I want to join in & I wish things like that reallly happened in the clubs I go to.
I'm heading to the cinema to watch Step Up2: The Streets tonight & so I hope I will feel as inspired.
