The best there is - By: Nik C, 12 Dec 2007
This series on our planet is probably the best I have ever seen. It has been created with a whole lot of respect for our earth. It is respectful & mindful of viewpoints, it does not seek to impress in any other way than by showing in astounding detail & quality spectacular images from alll over the globe.
The places & seasons are carefully picked to present a balanced view that raises ecological awareness & awakens love or at the very least an appreciation for the world as a whole in even the most insensitive of viewer.
Narrated with unfaltering & infectious passion by Sir David Attenborough.
Should be in every DVD cupboard!

Simply superb...breath taking !! - By: RK Dayanand, 29 Sep 2007
This is one of the best documentries ever made soo far...the high definition pictures are truely breath taking, the hard work, dedication & passion is a testament to David Attenborough's genius.
These are collections for a life time so please go for it now !!
The only downside with this box set are the couple of complimentary DVD's with Blue Planet which is not worth a mention.
suits all ages - By: vkomenda, 19 Aug 2007
The dvd collection is a perfect family entertainment. I believe it suites well alll ages. I was especiallly amused to see my two-year old daughter concentrating over some bright images of deep ocean dwellers or asking me to play "killer whale chases a seal" with her. She has learnt quite a few other funny things besides the chasing game. I think she even understood some environmental ideas, which is remarkable.
Blue planet/Planet Earth Boxset Review - By: P. SMITH, 13 Aug 2007
I was browsing round Amazons, wide ranging DVD titles, when I came across this double DVD boxset containing both series, at the time, which just so a happened to be my birthday, so I was lucky enough to receive the boxset as a gift.
Without doubt, I can associate myself with the comments of other reviewers here in particular Planet Earth. Which was for Me a ground breaking series from start to finish, the lengths the documentary makers went to achieve footage of a snow leopard was astounding. Not only the footage itself, but the lengths the filmmakers went to achieve this. At times putting themselves under a degree of personal risk to themselves.
The final disc relating to climate change, certainly left me with a lot to think about at the end, primarily because it was built on factual evidence of the potential consequences of climate change rather than just the raw emotion of the subject.
So far I've only watched the first disc of the blue planet, but plan to watch the other discs in the series.
Definitely a DVD box set for repeated viewings, I feel sure that when I watch, in particular planet Earth again I will learn something new that I didn't pick up first time round.
Comes highly recommended!!
