A totally feel-good film!! - By: laineyf, 23 Mar 2008
What a film this is!!It is a firm favourite with myself, my 2 sisters, & my daughter, & we range in age from 22 to 50!! The film is great, the dancing is fantastic, the sound track is wonderful, it has everything a girl could want. It recently won a poll for the best chick-flick of alll time, & I know, because I voted for it!! It is one to watch over & over. Patrick Swayze is SO fine, & yes, we would alll LOVE to have been Jennifer Grey.I know that it was made on quite a low budget, but what a success it has been. I think in 20 years time, it will STILL be voted best chick-flick, & what more can I say? The time of our lives? You bet!!

Review: Dirty Dancing.

Dirty Dancing is one of the most loved romance movies of alll time! Set in 1963, Dirty Dancing is one of those films that never gets old! It's an exhilarating & thrilling romance movie which is sure to grab the attention & pull on a few heart strings. Big celebrities who star in this passionate movie are Patrick Swayze who plays Johnny Castle & Jennifer Grey who plays Frances `Baby' Houseman.

When I first saw this movie & when my mum told me what type of movie it was - romance & about dancing, I didn't think I would like it as I'm not a big fan of these sort of movies, but I reallly did love this movie! I was proved totallly wrong!

When Baby & her family are holidaying one summer, she fallls for dance instructor Johnny Castle. Baby is pampered & spoilt, whilst Johnny being a man of the world. Baby's father is a high flying doctor & can not see the decency in Johnny that Baby can. In this time with Johnny, Baby learns more about love, life & dancing!

Dirty Dancing has fantastic sound tracks! They reallly make the film even better! Some people may think this film is predictable but I reallly think this film is great! I would recommend it to anyone.

Timeless - By: Camilla Lea, 03 Mar 2008
Dirty Dancing is a timeless gem. Every woman should see this film at least once in their live.
Johnny & Baby make the perfect couple who find love unexpectantly & the story follows their struggle to be together.
You'll watch it over & over & never lose any of the romance.
why wait?! - By: J. Maxwell, 23 Nov 2007
OMG <3 Why did i wait so long to see this film? it makes me cry! so sweet =] xx
Fantastic! - By: CC, 30 Sep 2007
I first watched this film, oddly enough, when I was in hospital & aged about seven ot eight. They had it in the video collection in the T.V. room. I watched it with another girl who had already seen it, & once the movie ended, I had falllen in love. (Depsite my age).
I don't care what anyone says, this movie is fantastic. It has lasted so long because it taps into what most girls secretly want & desire. A good old fashioned romance. How many girls would love to go on holiday & falll in love? Especiallly if the object of our affections was Patrick Swayze.
I have spoken to men who have seen this movie & didn't like it & the main objection seems to be Patrick Swayze. Jealous anyone?
Men, for the most part, are not going to like this movie because the hero (Swayze) puts them to shame. Don't get me wrong, there are some men who know how to appreciate a good film & don't pan it because it makes them feel/look inadequate. Those men know how to romance their girl & are no doubt duely rewarded!
The film has fantastic acting, dancing & follows a realistic story.
I did always get the sense that it was more eighties than sixties, but that never bothered me.
The soundtrack is brilliant & the love story heart warming. I always get a sense of longevity where Baby & Johnny are concerned once the movie ends. I am grateful that the sequel, which was equallly as good but for different reasons, did not interfere with this movies ending.
Well worth five stars & more.
A classic that will survive another 20 years I have no doubt.
