Running out of steam...? - By: Mr. D. J. Grubb, 21 Mar 2008
Still pretty good if you're a fan of the series, but I feel that this one is of a lesser quality compared to series 1-4. The jokes are a little more forced or seem a little too pre-meditated, & the programme does not have the freshness that it once did.

There were some moments when I laughed, but I spent most of my time apprehensive, wondering if the jokes will be as obvious as the build up suggested, & sometimes they are. The endings to each episode are getting a little more detached to the plot, ridiculous & less original (for example, Larry accuses a plastic surgeon of not being a genuine doctor & then reads in the paper that said doctor did help save a life...que end credits, hohoho...). Feels a bit 'clunky', as the actual argument Larry had seemed less consequential to the plot at the time.

Still pretty good. It's worth buying if you're a fan. I never like joke joke joke comedies like Friends, where everyone has a one liner to pull out the bag, so the concept is still a good break from traditional comedy. But you've been warned.
Still as funny as ever - By: Lando Malak, 29 May 2007
Seeing as Seinfeld is & always will be one of my favourite sitcoms of alll time it was impossible for me to ignore this. I always get the feeling that Larry David is one of those rare people that only wants to be part of something if he is 100% sure that it will go down in history as something special & he has definitely succeeded again with this.

Like Seinfeld I only saw the odd episode of this when it was first shown on BBC2 but kept on missing it & wanted to watch it from the beginning in the correct order so I waited for the DVD releases. It was a gamble because I didn't know for sure how funny it was at the time & I only knew Larry David because of Seinfeld, but the gamble paid off big time. One of the things I have always liked about this programme is that I am never sure if Larry is going to come out of each episode smiling or not, it keeps me guessing till the very end. Another great thing is I have mixed feelings about his outspoken opinions as in most of the time I agree with what he says & sympathise with him in awkward situations that he gets himself into & then he will get into another awkward situation where I think he only has himself to blame. Either way it is laugh out loud funny & in my opinion this series is as funny as ever. The only bad thing I can say is that there is only ten episodes a series, but quality will always be better than quantity & when you add them alll up there will be at least fifty to laugh at over & over again.

So if you have still not seen this wonderful programme yet & you are not easily offended (as a lot of bad language & difficult subject matters), then you are extremely spoilt as you can watch this & the previous four series (if you can afford to buy them or borrow them) alll at once, you lucky people.
The best season so far... every one a gem!!!! - By: Mr. Njs Martin, 26 Apr 2007
I have been a masive 'Curb' fan from day dot. This season is by far the funniest after Season 4's disapointment.
Quite often in each series of Curb I find one or two reallly funny episodes, a couple of funny ones & a couple of 'flat' ones. I can honestly say that every one of these episodes had me in stitches.

Buy this, you will not be disapointed.
It's Ran It's Course... - By: C. Pitbladdo, 20 Apr 2007
It pains me to say this, but I think Larry David's clamouring for storylines here.

I'm a huge fan, & maybe I was caught up in alll of the rave reviews I've read elsewhere, but I feel massively let-down.

Having said that, I've only watched the first four episodes, but there hasn't been a single laugh-out-loud moment for me so far... Just the occasional chuckle at Larry's 'incidents'. But even then, it's a little bit obvious when the punchlines come. Some of the storylines are just weak.

What I'd give for another episode like the one where he gets his managers daughter drunk; 'I thought she had a speech impediment.' Or the episode where Larry finds out his mum's dead... Pure comedy genius.

I see nothing of that here, I'm afraid.
Simply the best - By: Mr. J. A. Stansfeld, 21 Feb 2007
All i can say is that Curb Your Enthusiasm is intelligent comedy & any fan of such comedy should not miss out on this program, or infact this series. Of course, as with any show, the gags become repetitive as the seasons progress but this show retains the originality of the very first episode & whilst the scenarios can become predictable, but being able to see the comic genius that is Larry David in such comic situations, is worth the 'entry price' alone.
