Terrible Television - By: P. Schmidt, 29 Sep 2008
There are a lot of positive reviews on this DVD. I also read the books by Kathy Reichs. So, this would be good television.
Boy was I wrong. The acting beggars belief. The dialogs make you cringe. The stories & the whole production are nowhere near CSI quality. And the hologram to reproduce human faces from their remains is as funny as Star Trek's Heisenberg Compensator.
Funny bones - By: lush, 20 Sep 2008
This is an excellent series. Brilliant characters, storylines & humour. Brennon & Booth have a lot of chemistry & its reallly endearing to watch as they grow to like each other more & more. Can be quite qraphic but no much more so than CSI.

One thing i will say is that the series is unusual in that most of the hour long episode will focus on finding of the bodies, research & talking to suspects but often when the truth is revealed a lot is left hanging in the air & not much time is given to fully explaining motive & there are no flashbacks to the crime, im often left with more questions.... but maybe this is a good thing?

I have enjoyed every single episode & recommend it to alll.
Amazing! - By: Ms. K. N. L. Walker, 11 Sep 2008
Bones is one of those shows that has that 'special something' that gets you hooked & keeps you hooked. I love this show so much, the characters are deep & interesting. The way the script is written & acted out is amazing too, I love how Brennan & her team always solve the crime (the way they solve it, & alll the loose ends they tie up). I'm often certain of who committed the murder/s & then at the end, I get a surprise when I find out I'm wrong!

I'm sorry, I'm not the best reviewer ever (can't quite figure out how to write down the words in my head) but I have one main thing to say: BUY IT! BUY SEASON 2 AS WELL. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

It's much better than CSI, which has been going too long & is getting boring.
great new series - By: Lindymck, 25 Aug 2008
ws a bit skeptical about watching this but i read a novel tie in with series & i thought id give it a go. glad i did cos its reallly good, especiallly great to see David Boreanaz out & about in the sunshine after watching for 7 years as Angel. the sexual chemistry between booth & brennan is compelling, that funny bickering that goes on between people who arent together but maybe should be. an alternative to csi but not any less as good just different
CSI meets House - By: Josh Whedon, 29 Mar 2008
I can only reallly describe this series as a breath of fresh air. A lot of people may think "Oh no, not another forensics show!" but in fact this has elements that alll of the others are missing. Believe me when I say this, I am an avid CSI fan, but when I began watching this I found that it had alll CSI had & more. Not only does it have the forensics & gore, which you must admit is extremely entertaining, but it has character depth & backgroud & most importantly humour (albeit dark humour), which CSI as a show can ultimately lack (even if CSI:Miami has almost become self-mocking through it's use of caricatures & cliches). It is the fact that we see the development & relationships of characters which gives "Bones" the edge. Personallly, I would not watch "House" had it not the humour & character development & "Bones" has the exact balance needed in order to keep me glued to the screen. I have recently been watching CSI Vegas & have noticed it's descent into very dark territory & "Bones", with it's snappy, witty dialogue & the ever increasing romantic tension, makes it lighter & ultimately less straining to watch. It is also a benefit that the series focuses primarily on two main protagonists, although I've got to say I love Temperence Brennan's team, as I felt I could relate to the show more & I wasn't constantly bombarded with different cases & complicated, intertwining plot-lines. Overalll, I can say that whether you enjoy CSI or you don't, you have to give this a try as I believe that it has something for everybody. Oh yeah, & forensic anthropology is reallly interesting :)
