Many Americans enjoy this movie as the quintessential teen movie. Is it accurate? Not reallly. But it is fun. It's a movie that doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is. It's just a stoner movie that is beloved by many who lived through the American high school experience. As I'm not British, I don't know how well it crosses the cultural divide. Apparantly some American phraseology is annoying such as "freshman" but reallly, this movie is not about Brits & doesn't have to cater to those who can't be bothered to enjoy a movie from another country. In the States we say "freshman" & "sophomore" & this movie is portraying an American high school, not a British one.

If you don't like movies where nothing major happens then don't buy this film. But you'll be missing out!

This film is usuallly praised for its rock & roll soundtrack, which is fair enough. Trouble is you hear very little of that music here, & the movie itself is rubbish. Its just cringeworthy adolecent college crap in which annoyingly American terms such as "Freshman" & "Semester" appear with frightening regularity. I trusted the hype but soon took it back & swapped it for a proper film. Then again, I'm not an American teenager.
For a quality stoner experience try Up In Smoke, or even The Trip!

are you tokin the reefer? - By: luke hunt, 23 Oct 2004 This film is wat its alll about,u can identify wit every character-most of th characters are jus like ur mates-its awesome, although its slow to start, its well worth it, its full of comedy & so damn true, its easily one of my favourite films to chill to- check you later!
