The Musical Films of 20th Century Fox. were outrageously the most entertaining. - By: Barry Iddon, 16 Sep 2007
Moon over Miami. Down Argentine Way.The Dolly Sisters. & a vast number of unavailable titles from this studio: were moral boosters during the War years 0f 1939 /1945.
Okay so most of the content of these films were almost identical, they inevitably concerned Vaudeville semi biopics, or Girls out for a good time
in numerous exotic locations.
Betty Grable. Alice Faye.June Haver. & Carmen Miranda, where among the front runners in these productions, but with a carefull blend of speciality acts supporting the films plots, The Ritz Brothers & the top dancing talents of The Nicholas Brothers. Your entertaiment was certainly satisfied.
Speaking for myself: mine was !!!

I recalll queuing for hours outside our local picture houses even during those war days, to get in to the cheap seats, costing "SIXPENCE"

Seeing some of them out now on DVDs still brings back the nostalgia, & it also gives me a buzz searching around Internet sites for particular
favourites.

My wife & I have an affection also for the film STATE FAIR which is simple rousing tale of a Week-end away from home camping, & a Love Affair that has never left us in our lives.

Fox studios were triumphant in this escapism field....the costume departments must have worked hard, & their contract Stars gave it there alll in the professional capacities.

From "Hello Frisc Hello" to "Moon over Miami" or any where else they choose..... lets hope they re-issue more of these fabulous musicals in the future.

I will be watching for the anxiously.
