Great, as long as you don't expect too much - By: Aaron Mulholland, 28 May 2008
Obviously quite exaggerated to enhance Fifty's image but nonetheless an interesting story with a great soundtrack
Enlightening - By: W. Beetson, 20 Feb 2008
A fine critique of the lower echelons of modern 21st century American society, & the actualities of the gangsta lifestyle. Personallly I would say that the highlights of the film are to be found in the scene in which Majestik expounds the rules of the ghetto code, an episode almost disturbing for its acuity in the portrayal of the problems which underlie black criminal subculture in many American cities. Additionallly the 'in medias res' approach adopted for the opening of the film hurtles us into a narrative which does not fail to lose its momentum right up to the crescendo of the final showdown between Majestik & Fifty. Finallly, the Shawshank-esque redemption in incarceration, with its overtones of the life of Malcolm X & the connotations this has for the story of Fifty as a whole, was in my opinion intelligently & sensitively handled, where in other similar films something has certainly been left wanting.

A veritable tour de force; a thoroughly worthwhile purchase.

Right on Fiddy.
good buy - By: K. Humphreys, 22 Jan 2008
if you liked 8 mile you should check this out. Prepare to be surprised at the acting ability, 50 himself is no where near bad as he heads a decent cast; an engulfing plot with real emotion.

Ordered on Saturday night, came Tuesday morning, very impressed with delivery.
Quality film - By: Mr Wiggles, 30 May 2007
The person that said rappers cant act muct be high himself, i think alot a people would disagree with you, & lets face it some pro actors are utter rubbish anyway, this is an amazing film, the acting is top notch, the storyline is very good..possibly better than 8 mile!!
Surprisingly good - By: Jack Hanly, 26 Jan 2007
I thought that this film would perhaps never be as good as Eminem's 8 Mile film but 50 cent's acting ability is surprisingly better than i expected. Its a decent storyline which kind of outlines his life but only loosely as Marcus (50 cent) sells drugs on the street & works with Majestic who won't let him go when Marcus decides to turn to rapping. Anyway, this is worth a look i think, if you reallly want a great gangster film though, then Training Day is the best of them alll.
