This film is inspired by Cold War. Jim Wormald ( played well by Alec Guiness) is an Englishman selling vacuum cleaners in Cuba just as the revolution started. Hawthorne (played by the great Noel Coward)is a British intelligence officer, looking to spy on Cuban affairs & recruits Jim to help him.

Then comes many comic momments. I enjoyed this film - but it is perhaps a little long.

I lived in Havana from 1993-2000 & know well most of the places featured in this movie, which was nearly alll shot on Location in Havana. I have seen many films about or set in Havana but only this one captures both the look & feel of the city which is in almost unchanged since the film was made in 1958/59. Certainly the atmosphere is exactly the same then as now & I suspect will always be so. Watch this movie & get a taste of Cuba...
