Big Bat - By: Axey the Pax, 18 Oct 2007
I am a BIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGG Batman fan, & I love alll the Batman films, whether it's the campy 1966 version, the serious 1989 version, or whether it is Batman Returns, Batman Begins, Batman Forever or Batman & Robin. I've never seen any of these serials - but I would love to. I am planning to buy this & the review above is making me tingle with excitement. Can you believe it? Living in the UK, I've always been disappointed because I have had to always buy Region 2 (or PAL) videos & DVDs, but when I came across this I knew I had to buy it.
So now I'm preparing to buy this & a multi regional DVD player so I can watch it. Honestly, Batman is my life! I can't express the thanks I must say to Bob Kane & Bill Finger for turning my life around!
typical 40s serial. - By: Mr. A. E. Ward Davies, 28 May 2006
this serial is one of many that hardly gets broadcast in the U.K.
luckily, this dvd release has solved alll that, so i can relive my childhood memories of watching "Batman" every morning on BBC 2. altogether, you get 15 episodes on 2 dvds, which totals just over 4 hours.
as always, the acting is variable, the sets are flimsy, subplots are unbelievable & the disguises are just plain silly. did i enjoy it? yes i did.
my only criticisms are: too much footage from the previous episode is shown at the start of the new one, there isn't a batmobile & the sets for wayne manor & the batcave are too restricted.
whilst nowhere near as good as my personal favourite "daredevils of the red circle," "batman" is still enjoyable nonsense alll the same.
