where has syd been???? - By: Lindymck, 08 Nov 2009
sydney wakes up in hong kong & discovers she has been gone for 2 years. in addition to this she discover vaughn is married, her dad is in solitary confinement, sloane is free & heading up a relief organisation & will is alive & in witness protection. so the first half of the season is about sydneys quest to fix her life & discover what she was doing for the past 2 years. the sydney, vaughn, lauren love triangle also features greatly throughout the whole season & forces the characters into some interesting situations. in the later part of the season focuses on discovering who has been spying for the covenant & sydney's missing 2 years come back to get her.
again fast paced, great missions & the usual baddies. more famous guest stars, isabella rosselini as syd's aunt & quentin tarantino returns.
GOOD ESCAPISM! - By: Bargain Hunter, 10 Oct 2009
If you're a fan of Jennifer Garner, then this is for you.
Because of the generous amount of viewing time spread across several DVD's there's plenty of time to get to know the films characters, which always adds to viewing pleasure.
Gripping viewing when you fancy a night in, & each episode lasts around 40 minutes which is just right...!
Alias - Complete Season 3 - By: Mrs. Patricia Blain, 07 Jun 2009
I think this is one of the best series out there & would recommend it to anyone
Disappointing third series?? - By: DDH255, 25 Jan 2009
After the dramatic conclusion of Series 2 (a superb combination of excitement, superior writing & controlled accents), Sydney Bristow has to recover the missing two years of her life, finding that loyalties & alignments have changed. Vaughan has married another woman & Sloan has joined the good guys. Yet in spite of this intriguing premise & the excitement of the initial episodes, the characters jump back into place alll too quickly. Jack is released from jail in the first episode & Vaughan soon begins to be attracted to Sydney. The truth behind Sydney's missing time is pieced together for her neatly, sacrificing a superb plotline.
Sydney's relationships with her friends outside her work have diminshed & this means that she seems like a less complete character. Another distraction are the flashy cameos from the likes of Quentin Tarntino & David Cronenberg & an unlikely comedy terrorist by Ricky Gervais distract from the main characters & mean that this series becomes more a sequence of episodes than a tightly constructed series.
This is not to say that there are not some strong episodes, just that the series as a whole lacks the energy, focus & tension of the first two. Still I am looking forward to number 4.
