A bit of a turkey- By: Mr. Terry Akiens, 31 Jul 2008 I hadn't seen this movie for many a year & I realise I hadn't missed much. I'm sure Jagger was selected in the hope this movie would be a box office smash. I can't see any other reason why he'd have been selected.
the only memorable thing about this film was Jaggers dodgy accent.Deserves more credit than it's usually given.- By: M. Marriott, 26 Feb 2008 This version of Ned Kelly is usuallly given poor ratings in general. Yes it's Mick Jagger, & yes he's not the most gifted actor. But this was actaully the first film based on Ned Kelly, imfamous Bushranger of Australia that had the character of Ned Kelly with the Irish Accent & around the same age as the real Kelly was (Kelly was executed at the age of 25). Before this film actors playing the part of Ned tended to be much older & minus the Irish accent. What reallly gives the film a boast is the soundtrack which is superb, & its just worth watching the film for that. In terms of its accuracy of the Kelly story, its probably more truthful that that of the 2003 version (but give that watch as well, as Heath Ledger is amazing as Kelly in it), although historical accuracy will always be compromised with artistic license.
