I simply cannot fathom the bad reviews for this film. I have just finished watching it & thought it was one of the best horror films I have ever seen.
If your a fan of good horror films & want to see something other than the current run of the mill teen slasher films then you must see this. The story was original & intelligent & created a tense, suspenseful atmosphere which will keep you guessing alll the way to the end.
very hard - By: Robert Stryszyk, 26 May 2008 Every one who rates this film with less than 4 stars is a "Alice in wonderland" fan & tries to be tough in saying the movie is so boring but I know you couldn`t sleep for days. Very intelligent & raw movie with perfect sound & picture quality. The acting is brilliant.

When I sat down to watch this I had no idea what it was about. And it does not take long to find out. We start off with two men chain to opposite sides of a very grimy & disgusting large bathroom. In between them is the body of a man that shot himself in the head. The corpse has a gun in one hand & a tape player in the other. Everything just out of the two men's reach. And then the game begins; they each find an envelope in their pocket with tapes in them. And alll they have is a hacksaw each that would never cut through the chains they wear.
Then we watch as the story unfolds. The two victims figure out that an ingenious serial killer known as the jigsaw killer placed them there. This plot was well thought out. And the killer has left them no choice. They have to get out our pay the consequences.

Well I must be missing something, cause it seems that everyone else I spoke to liked this film.
I'm presuming this isn't supposed to be a comedy, but the little puppet wheelchair fella cracked me up - surely the most lame assed "villain" in film history (except maybe for John Travolta in battlefield Earth).
Lame plot, lame acting, even the voiceovers were O.T.T. Completely mystified as to the attraction of this film, & even more mystified that there are 2 more after it - the director must be laughing alll the way to his yacht that we've paid for.

I DON'T NO WHY THE FIRST SAW HAS 4 AND 5 STARS THERE
CRAP! SAW 2 AND 3 ARE FAR BETTER!
EFFECTS 3/10 THE BLOOD LOOKED LIKE FOOD COLOURING!
CHILLS 1/10 DIDN'T FEEL ANY SPINE TINGLING SCENES
