one strange movie, one great DVD - By: Great White, 22 Nov 2005
I have only seen strange frequency 2 & 3 & already i love these films about the excess of drugs & rock n roll with a tales from the crypt or twilight zone twist. In this one we get a alllsortment for stars from James Marsters (best known as Spike from the buffy series)to the great rock god himself Roger Daltry (who also hosts the stories of this film.)
In Soul Man, James Marsters plays Mitch, a guitar tech who dreams of making it big as an excellent guitar playing rock star. When he purchases a sheet of music written by the late Jimi Hendrix before he died, things takes a bizzare turn as the music brings the devil to the stage with an offer that should be thought about very carefully...
In Cold Turkey, John Hawkes (best known as Benny the store owner in From Dusk till Dawn)plays a washed up rock star who has a major dependancy on drugs & with it a muse who just cant say no to getting high (played by Patsy Kensit. When he tries to quit, well it ain't that easy....
Instant Karma, goes into vice versa style as Jason Gerrick plays Vince Brava, a sleazy rockstar who just wants to takes the fans for alll their worth. One day he goes to far with one fan who he rapes while going to his hotel on a tour bus. This is the worst mistake to make because what goes around, come back round to bite your in the your bank account.
The final story on this DVD is about a senator (played by the legendary veteran of movies Peter Strauss) who loves a song so much that it could be the death of him....or worse.

alll in alll, this is a great movie with a lot of good acting & great star turns. If you love rock n roll & either the Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits or Tales from the Crypt then you'll love the 93 mins that you will have sitting through this. Gimme Strange Frequency 4!
